Coupled with the enormous resources needed to sustain them, what could they be other than a burden?

While advancing down the extraordinary path might seem easy for them, for most people, it was nearly impossible.
No matter how hard they trained or how much time they spent, most couldn't advance to tier 1 Void Warrior Rank, let alone anything higher.
As for using resources to propel them further, that was even more unthinkable.
Even with the Star Alliance's wealth, it couldn't afford such a wasteful endeavor.
