Silence fell as Pandora waited, but there was no reply. Had she overstepped? She immediately decided to say something, at least to clear the air.
"If you don't want to, it's fine," she laughed softly, as if that would return the calm atmosphere, though her heart raced wildly.
Raven noticed her silence, and then he finally spoke.
"Do you want me to sing?" he asked softly, turning to face her where she had been kneeling to towel-dry his hair on the bed.
She sat back on the bed as Raven took the towel from her. He dropped it gently on the bedside table, noticing how calm she had become—too calm. Her earlier excited expression had dimmed, yet he could tell she was trying to act composed.
"You don't have to worry, Raven. After all, I was only making a suggestion…" Before she could finish, Raven held her hands gently.
