Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – The Power Behind the Mask

"Admiral Sengoku, what exactly is going on here?" one of the vice admirals asked, completely baffled. The building was just 20 meters tall from the outside, yet inside, the walls stretched over a hundred meters high. What kind of architect designed this place? Come here, let me give you a slap to add a 'buff.'

"A Devil Fruit user—either Architecture or Labyrinth type," Sengoku muttered grimly, quickly moving into action. A golden light enveloped his body, and in the blink of an eye, he transformed into a radiant golden Buddha. Then, with a thunderous step forward, he punched the maze wall with full force.

BOOM!

A deafening crash rang out. Sengoku stared at the wall, stunned. He hadn't used his full strength, but even so, not being able to crack a single wall? What was this made of—Sea Prism Stone?

"Admiral Sengoku!" Several other vice admirals rushed over.

Sengoku gritted his teeth and barked, "Everyone, move in! We must capture Roger!" Damn it—how did they even get in? What were the guards outside doing? Worthless… Wait, I was outside too. His face darkened even more, and he subconsciously quickened his pace.

"Rimuru, someone's inside," Ramiris reported as soon as Sengoku entered the labyrinth. "How much longer do you need?"

Rimuru glanced at Roger, who was encased in a massive slime cocoon. Every cell in his body—except for his brain—had been replaced. Honestly, the poison in Roger's body was terrifying. It had completely drained his life force, leaving most of his cells nonfunctional. The fact that he'd survived this long was nothing short of a miracle.

Now, using the transformation powers of the God of Mimicry, Rimuru had replaced Roger's cells one by one. Once Roger woke up, his strength would likely grow even further. The only uncertainty was when he'd wake—merging soul and flesh wasn't exactly quick work.

Rimuru absorbed Roger into his own body and looked at Ramiris. "I'm done. What's your next move?"

Ramiris grinned slyly. "I think I'll go play with them~"

Rimuru sighed helplessly. "Don't overdo it."

"Yeah, yeah," Ramiris waved him off and flew away.

A magic circle appeared beneath Rimuru's feet, and with a flash of light, he vanished.

Outside, the Navy was still locked in a brutal battle with Milim. Though she wasn't killing anyone, her rampage left dozens of soldiers seriously injured.

Garp had just been launched again, crashing through several buildings. He leapt out of the rubble, panting heavily, and glared at the pink-haired girl in the distance—Milim was taking down vice admirals with one punch each. "What kind of monster is this kid?!"

Suddenly, his vision darkened. He instinctively dodged—and behind him, a building collapsed. A vice admiral had just been launched into it.

Garp reactivated his Armament Haki, blackening both fists, and charged back into the fray.

Milim noticed his approach and caught his fist easily. She was just about to return the blow when a wave of molten lava surged toward her face.

Instead of dodging, Milim headbutted the magma.

CRACK!

She emerged completely unscathed. In contrast, Sakazuki—who had launched the attack—was hurled back, his magma attack dispersed, blood gushing from newly torn wounds.

"Damn it!" Garp muttered. He didn't like Sakazuki, but he still couldn't stomach watching a fellow marine get wrecked like this.

"Iron Fist: Starshatter!"

Garp activated his ultimate move. The very air twisted under the pressure of his punch. Before Milim could react, the fist connected squarely with her stomach.

BOOM!

Milim was blasted backward, skidding across the ground for hundreds of meters, demolishing the streets beneath her in the process.

Garp, still catching his breath, looked up and was stunned—out of the dust walked Milim, completely unharmed.

"Impossible…" he murmured. That punch could sink an entire island, and yet—nothing?

Milim looked at him with interest. "Not bad. You actually managed to knock me back. Sure, you took me by surprise, but still—not bad. I am a Dragonoid, after all. My magical energy constantly reinforces my body. In terms of physical resilience, I'm second only to Rimuru among the Demon Lords."

"Hey!" she called out. "I'm Milim! Demon Lord Milim. What's your name?"

"Garp. Monkey D. Garp," he replied steadily. "Just a regular ol' Marine. Are you the ones who came to rescue Roger?"

"More or less," Milim replied nonchalantly. "But Roger's already safe now. Say… want to be my subordinate? I can give you any treasure you want!"

Garp blinked, then shook his head firmly. "Sorry. I've been a Marine for so long it's second nature now. I'm just here to take down pirates that threaten the peace. Long as I can afford donuts, that's enough."

"Really?" Milim looked genuinely disappointed. "Rimuru's got so many amazing people working for him. I want strong subordinates too…"

"Rimuru?" Garp frowned. "Your 'Rimuru'... who is he?"

"He's my bestest, best friend!" Milim said proudly. "He's strong, smart, and super awesome! He's the one who came up with the plan to rescue Roger!"

"Oh right… I've been playing too long." Milim glanced up, cracking her knuckles. "Time to wrap this up."

She removed the ring from her finger.

Garp raised an eyebrow. "One hit to end the fight? Come on, who would believe that?"

He looked around. Most of the vice admirals were barely standing. Zephyr, aka "Black Arm" Zephyr, had recovered somewhat. As for Commander Kong—he'd long since passed out cold.

Then, the moment Milim took off her ring, a torrent of demonic energy exploded into the sky.

An unbearable pressure crushed down on the battlefield. Every Marine at the level of vice admiral and below was instantly flattened to the ground.

Only Garp and Zephyr remained standing… barely.
