"It was four years ago," Edward responded. "I received a letter from the Sezile family. The letter was brought to me through a very reputable and trusted channel. I also personally verified the seal on the letter to the best of my abilities, and it was genuine."
"The letter was a recommendation for Angelica, asking to recruit her as a teacher at the academy. It assured me that the girl was a very capable instructor and that I would not have to make any compromises on quality," he continued. "Angelica came to the city a few days later, carrying a copy of the letter."
"And though I would have recruited her anyway, I still tested her. I was fully satisfied. Just as the letter had stated, I did not need to make any compromises regarding my standards. I hired her."
Riguras and Wenton continued to look at Edward in silence, as if they were expecting him to say something more. But they realized after a few moments that he was finished.
