Chapter 52 - A Beauty Lost To Time

He smiled and went inside a cave crack that Ishar hadn't even noticed. As soon as they entered they were greeted by the most awesome, interesting, and realest evidence possible.

Piles of gold armor, carved with intricate silver designs lay gleaming on top of each other. Beside them were several pointy spears, so fresh and shining that it seemed as if the war had happened the day before. Heaps of daggers, embroidered by shining emeralds and sapphires lay on top of a velvet pillow.

However , it was the items beside Ishar, on a stone desk that caught his eye. They were weapons, or astras as Venkatesh called it, that looked so strikingly modern-in fact even more advanced, that Ishar couldn't help but marvel at the ancient technology. They looked like guns, and pistols, and rifles, and all that military extravaganza.

"They all have different abilities-" Venkatesh explained beside him, "-Some can freeze others, some can burn, but many have the amplified power of current technological spyware and weapons. See this?"

He held up a small device with a glittering ruby in the front.

"This was used to spy upon the aliens, and it self-destructed if ever found."

"Do these items still work?" Ishar asked.

"Nah. Many of these eventually ran out of power or were eventually ruined by the erosion of weather. But we don't try to fix them- it's better that they rest undisturbed. Remember that logo we saw on that wall? That was tattooed on all the protectors, a sign of loyalty and courage. Even the aliens have their own."

He rolled up his sleeves and showed him a mesmerizing tattoo, bold and brave.

Then Venkatesh led Ishar to another corner of the room. Over there, on top of a velvet pillow, was a tiny piece of the most lustrous, silver metal he had ever seen. He was immediately hypnotized by its beauty. It was as if light emitted from within itself, like a small star shining in the midst of darkness.

"This is dimanium. Pretty thing, isn't it?"

Venkatesh spoke, "The soldiers kept a small piece of it here, in case the future generations ever needed it."

"Wow…" Ishar was mustered speechless. In fact, it looked like everyone had been too stunned to speak.

Ishar nodded and looked away, resisting the urge to touch it.

Apart from the astras, there were numerous other war artifacts, maps of ancient times, and amazingly royal war robes.

It was like seeing a glimpse of the past, a cavern of truth hidden from society millenia ago. And now, it was found once more, at its greatest need ever.

Pratap tapped Ishar. He turned around to see Pratap grinning like an idiot. In a dramatic manner, he held out his hands, and giddily said,

"Now, where are my ten rupees?"
