Chapter 108 - The Dawn of Darkness (2)

Over time, Tejod began to master the use of magic under the tutelage of the Shadow Council. Each day, his power grew exponentially, like a bonfire fed by relentless winds. The council's teachings were rigorous and demanding, but Tejod absorbed them with an insatiable thirst. His understanding of dark forces became deeper, almost instinctive, as if the shadows themselves were whispering ancient secrets into his ear. Finally, after mastering everything the council had to offer, he felt it was time to return to his hometown.

Before departing, Tejod consulted his master, Urugas. Kneeling before the shadowy presence, he raised his gaze with determination and asked in a firm voice, "What do you wish me to do?"

Urugas responded without hesitation, his voice resonating like thunder in Tejod's mind. "Form a great army. Destroy the balance of this world. End the peace and bring absolute chaos. Darken this place and turn it into a realm of shadows, preparing it for my arrival."

Every word from Urugas was an unbreakable command, laden with an authority that left no room for doubt. Tejod bowed his head even lower, his colossal body casting a shadow that seemed to devour the surrounding light. He knew this mission would not be easy, but he also understood there was no alternative. The darkness now coursing through his veins demanded absolute obedience, and the fate of the world rested in his claws.

With a mixture of reverence and resolve, Tejod prepared to fulfill his master's will. The path to absolute chaos began now.

Tejod nodded with determination. With his colossal body and newly acquired magic, he returned to the village where he had once been rejected. Upon arriving, his cold, calculating gaze swept over the area. The animals were still living happily, idling about without concern for their surroundings. At that moment, Tejod felt a mixture of disdain and satisfaction. It was time to change everything.

He raised his eyes toward the villagers, who looked at him with fear upon seeing his new imposing form. Without uttering a word, he began to wield his magic. Waves of dark energy emanated from his hands, enveloping everyone present. Their bodies twisted and deformed as they screamed in agony, some unable to endure the process and perishing in the attempt. Those who survived were transformed into shadowy creatures, beings who swore loyalty to both Tejod and their god, Urugas.

Only five badgers stood out among the rest. Tejod personally selected them, forcing them to compete against one another until only these five remained. They would become the leaders of his burgeoning army. The other races—hamsters, weasels, rats, mice, opossums, viscachas, and guinea pigs—were appointed as generals and commanders, each assigned different roles within the military structure.

Those who showed no aptitude for combat were relegated to tasks of construction, administration, and other necessary duties to sustain the new order. Thus was born the Realm of Tehtra, a place where light and joy had been extinguished, replaced by shadows and servitude.

Once Tejod had his select force under his control, he and his army set out to conquer various territories, expanding their dominion over neighboring settlements inhabited by humanoids. Among them were the races of strawberries and cherries, who already possessed advanced forms and an organized structure. However, this did not save them from Tejod's designs. He decided to give them a choice: perish or join his ranks as part of his army. To those who accepted, he granted a special power—the blue flame, a magical fire that consumed both light and hope. These troops he called the Red Shadows, a devastating force whose mission was to sow chaos wherever they stepped.

Tejod repeated this process with each of his leaders, assigning them a distinct race and entrusting them with control over a specific faction. Each faction received a distinctive color and a type of magical fire opposite to their hue, creating a symbolic balance within its power structure. Thus:

The Blue Shadows (blueberries) bore red fire, a vibrant contrast that represented their ferocity.

The Green Shadows (jackfruit) emitted yellow flames, a reminder of their ability to adapt and survive.

The Yellow Shadows (durian) controlled green fire, a symbol of their connection to corrupted nature.

The Red Shadows (strawberries and cherries) dominated blue flames, an homage to the relentless cold of their discipline.

The Purple Shadows (olives) possessed black fire, a paradox reflecting their role as the deadliest elite.

Finally, the Black Shadows (blackberries) carried purple flames, a hypnotic spectacle evoking mystery and absolute destruction. These troops were the most feared, known for their cruelty and ability to extinguish any trace of resistance.

Each faction had a specific function within the growing horde, and all shared a single goal: to expand the shadows until not a single corner of light remained in the world. Tejod's leaders oversaw these divisions with an iron grip, ensuring that each group fulfilled its purpose within the war machine.

With this meticulously designed structure, Tejod consolidated his power and began weaving a web of darkness that would soon cover the entire known world.

Chaos reigned in a region unknown to the avocados, unexplored lands that were quickly consumed by darkness. With every step of Tejod, the earth lost its color, as if life itself were being ripped from it. Nothing was safe: those who succumbed to him became soldiers in his horde, while those who defied him perished without mercy. The world, little by little, descended into eternal night.

"Tejod, Tejod!" a threatening and terrifying voice resonated in the mind of the colossal humanoid badger. "Wake up at once, my most loyal soldier!"

Tejod abruptly emerged from a deep sleep, one that had transported him to the past, when he was just a small badger rejected by his community. He shook his head, clearing away the memories that threatened to distract him. "Yes, tell me, my lord," he responded with reverence, bowing his massive body toward the source of the voice.

"How does everything go? Have you found a way to bring me back?" asked Urugas from the shadows, his tone laced with impatience but also expectation.

"Yes, my lord. Very soon. Nothing remains. Your dark essence will return, and this world will be completely yours," assured Tejod, his voice firm and filled with devotion.

"Excellent," responded Urugas, releasing a laugh that echoed like thunder in the darkness. His laughter was chilling, a ripple that seemed to vibrate through every fiber of Tejod's being, filling him with a mix of fear and pride. He knew his mission was nearing its climax, and that the fate of the world rested in his claws.
