Chapter 78 - "Giving a Planet a Middle Part."

-----

-----

In an ordinary star system, dozens of light-years away from the solar system…

A rainbow-colored beam streaked across space, but suddenly stopped short near a rocky planet about half the size of Earth.

The light vanished—and two figures appeared out of thin air.

"Human! Give me back my axe!"

Having his weapon snatched away twice in a row had really pissed Thor off.

"Sorry, no air in space—I can't hear a word you're saying."

Peter obviously had super hearing and could easily hear Thor even in a vacuum.

But right now, he pretended not to hear a thing and even poked a finger in his ear mockingly.

"So... you first."

Suddenly, Peter's gaze turned cold. He hurled Thor's body straight down toward the rocky planet below.

Then he glanced at the weapon in his hand, which looked a bit different from the Stormbreaker in the movies, but showed no attachment to it whatsoever.

"If you want it so badly, then here—take it!"

And with that, he chucked the axe after the falling Thor.

A second later, Peter shot toward the dead, lifeless planet like a missile.

If the planet had a consciousness, it would definitely be freaking out: "Damn it, I should've checked the stars before coming out today—why did I have to bump into these two monsters?"

"Haha! My axe!"

While falling, Thor spotted his axe flying after him and got super hyped. He quickly raised his right hand.

"Come to me!"

At his command, the axe sped up and zoomed straight into his hand.

"Yes! That bastard really thinks I'm nothing? Now he's gonna find out what happens when you underestimate me!"

Gripping the axe tightly, Thor was instantly surrounded by crackling lightning.

And the minor injuries from Peter's earlier punch? Gone in a flash.

Divine power surged back into his body, and for a moment, he felt even stronger than before.

"Alright... my turn."

Thor halted his freefall, hovering steadily a few hundred meters above the ground.

And in the next second, a figure appeared right in front of him—Peter.

"Maybe I did underestimate you," Thor said, eyes locked on Peter. His tone had shifted—more serious now. Peter's earlier display had made it clear this was no ordinary fight.

"But Asgardian warriors… we don't lose!"

Thor raised his axe high, his presence becoming more intense with every second.

Peter tilted his head, smirking. "Funny, coming from the guy who almost cried after losing last time."

Thor's aura faltered for a split second. His expression turned sour.

"Ahem... I'm not gonna lose to you again!" he shouted, as if trying to shake off the embarrassment of that earlier defeat.

Suddenly, dark storm clouds rolled in, blotting out the sky.

Bolts of red lightning began to spark and churn through the clouds.

The crackling electricity around Thor started shifting colors—from its usual silver to a deep crimson.

Even his silver axe began glowing with bright red lines, pulsing like they were alive.

BOOM.

Beneath the two, the ground rumbled, like some ancient beast was charging beneath the surface.

The earth heaved, like it was about to give birth to something terrifying.

"You were right earlier," Thor said coldly. "Midgard really isn't a good place for a battle."

"The humans there are way too weak. They'd never survive the full force of my power."

His eyes were now glowing blood-red, red fire dancing within them.

The once blue lightning that surged through his body had completely turned red.

He was now surrounded by crimson flames—like a raging fire giant from the depths of a volcano.

"But here... I can finally unleash everything on you."

With that, Thor raised his axe high into the air.

As if answering his call, the crimson lightning in the clouds responded in kind.

CRACK! CRACK!

Massive bolts of red lightning slammed down onto Thor's axe.

The energy coursing through him turned his entire armor a fiery red.

The storm above churned into a sea of blood-colored thunderclouds.

Some of the lightning even struck the ground, exposing what had been rumbling below—not a monster, but rivers of molten lava.

Peter raised an eyebrow, amused. "Huh... looks like this guy's hit his second form."

He stared with interest at the fire-and-thunder version of Thor.

"Question is… can that version of him survive one punch from me?"

He didn't interrupt Thor's transformation. Just watched as Thor's power continued to build, higher and higher.

Then it peaked.

"RAHHH!!"

Thor let out a furious roar and shot into the sky, hundreds of meters up.

The lightning in the clouds seemed to merge with his body.

With the full might of the storm behind him—and that monstrous axe glowing like a bloody sun—Thor dove down toward Peter.

The axe, now pulsing with red energy, looked like it had grown several times in size.

It came down like a world-ending cleaver, ready to slice Peter in half.

Even the lava below was caught up in the momentum, swirling into a terrifying red fire dragon.

ROAR!!

The dragon screamed as it lunged toward Peter along with Thor's axe.

"Damn. Lotta flash," Peter muttered, unfazed. "Too bad it's all show."

His expression hadn't changed at all.

"No way… he's faking it!" Thor thought. His axe was about to land—and yet Peter didn't look even a little afraid.

"For the glory of Asgard!"

With that final cry, Thor swung down with everything he had.

BOOM!

Just before it hit, Peter raised a single hand—and caught the giant, lightning-charged axe with zero effort.

"What?!"

Thor felt the force get absorbed completely, like slamming into a mountain that refused to budge.

"This… this is impossible!"

Peter sighed. "A lot of things seem impossible—until they're not."

His face finally turned serious.

With his other hand, he slowly formed a fist.

Thor's eyes widened as Peter threw the punch.

Time stopped.

The power in that punch became something almost physical—real.

And in the next instant, Thor's body—and the entire planet beneath them—shattered into pieces.

From space, one could see a massive crack splitting the planet's rocky surface in two, exposing the molten core underneath.

One punch.

That's all it took for Peter to give this rocky world a makeover—like giving it a hairline part, just like a certain pop star who dances and sings.

And then—

The glow of the Bifrost shimmered down.

Peter's figure vanished in a flash of light.

Back on Asgard, Odin slowly lifted his head.
