*Narrator*
It was Eiran 's first day of school, he was to be in the same class and school as Asrik, 'Mater's grade school', it wasn't the normal school for the orphanage kids. Only the really smart ones were enrolled there and as for the kids his age, Asrik was the only one who went there. He liked it, he didn't feel like an orphan, since he was the only Gray around, neither did much people know, but now everyone will know, he thought, as he watched Eiran get into the car. Miss Clyde, who sat in the front turned to them, "don't worry Eiran, everyone at school is going to love you and Asrik remember to introduce Eiran to all your friends", she smiled.
*Asrik*
Introduce him to all my friends, as if, yeah, maybe he was different when he arrived, but that's it, I mean, he's basically mute, he doesn't speak, nod his head or even give any sort of acknowledgement. He just sits there with that dull look on his face, as though he's constantly at a funeral, I thought he was different, but he's just some loser and he better not act like he knows me when we get to school. Miss Clyde dropped us off and took Eiran to speak with our homeroom teacher. "Hey, dude", an arm swung around my shoulder, "sup, Daniel ", 'Daniel white', he's been my seatmate for the past two years and also a good friend. His parents are politicians, meaning he's not someone I should be associating with, he's on a much higher level than people like me. "Ok everyone, take your seats", our homeroom teacher, Mr Matthew announced, "a new student will be joining us today, come on in". The class was silent, time's like this were the most crucial for a newcomer. In a matter of seconds, your whole life is decided for you, whether you're the classic rich kid, the snotty spoilt one , the average guy or the loser geek, it was all decided the moment you introduce yourself. So, what will he be, 'the loser', definitely, he can barely speak to the orphans, he's gonna make a fool out of himself, coming in here with his head down.
'Click, Clack, Click, Clack, Click', did his shoes always sound so loud. The class was silent, dead silent, before Eiran Gray, who stood above them like the dean, standing in front of the classroom he did a quick scan with his eyes. Judging us all from left to right, his dark blue eyes, piercing the soul of each and every one of us, in a way that makes you feel especially conscious, more likely when it comes to kids. "Hello everyone, my name is Eiran Gray", those were the only words he offered, in the most plain tone I've ever heard, before he walked off to his seat, at the left side, in the front of the classroom. Even Mr Matthew, looked surprised, but he said no more and that was when I realized that once again, I had underestimated, Eiran Gray.
The whole class had already begun to whisper about him, the girls squealing about how cute he was, while the guys complained that he's probably some rich arrogant snob.
When the bell rang, sounding for the break, I accepted that the time had come, everyone had gathered the new student, who rumor says scored nothing less than 93% on all his papers. Smart, neat and cute, they had all gathered around him, I wonder what type of act he'll put on, when they ask, what family he comes from. As surprising as it sounds, I've managed to avoid answering that question for the past two years and being the only child from the orphanage at this school, it's been easier than you'd think, but with him.
Well, no matter, no one would want to tell people that their an orphan. "I'm an orphan", "what!!" Before I had realized the whole class had turned to me, but I had absolutely no interest in their looks, if I heard correctly, then Eiran, just plainly stated that he was an orphan. Why would he do that, I know he's not exactly a people's person, but does he even possess any sense of self preservation. Everyone had focused back on him, "did you say your an orphan" Daniel asked, the whole class had gone silent. "What? Are you all already hard of hearing", 'hard of hearing', they weren't wrong to presume him as arrogant, you could already hear the whispers, an orphan and a foul mouth, the crowd would quickly dissolve is what I thought, but once again I was wrong. "An orphan, no way, I would've thought you were a nepo baby for sure", "right". Everyone just continued babbling in front of his desk, in fact it seemed they were now more interested in him. It seems it's only the children at the orphanage he wishes to keep away from, but that wasn't the case.
Although everyone was interested in him, he showed no interest or courtesy in return, at most he answered their questions, but that was it. He didn't seemed bothered by anything or anyone, it felt like just in that moment he already had everyone in the palm of his hand.
