Chapter 416 - The Beginning of the Revenge - Part 3

The Beginning of the Revenge - Part 3

"AAAAAAAAAH!"

Umbridge's scream echoed throughout the entire room as she raised her wand and pointed it directly at the two figures standing in front of her.

"Don't move!" she immediately added when she noticed they were two young girls who seemed to be standing there simply watching her.

The two girls remained completely still, or rather, they simply continued watching Umbridge with complete calm.

Umbridge took several breaths as she stared at them, recognizing them.

"You are... the youngest Greengrass and Xenophilius's daughter," Umbridge said, calming down a little after recognizing them, although she didn't lower her wand immediately and instead continued staring at them.

Luna and Astoria also looked at Umbridge calmly, but there was something strange about them.

Both were dressed exactly the same.

They wore identical blue dresses that reached almost to their ankles, black shoes, and their hair was perfectly arranged. They were even standing side by side holding hands, staring directly at Umbridge.

For several seconds, no one said anything.

Luna tilted her head slightly.

"Inspector, you look frightened."

"What are you two doing here, and why are you dressed like that? Where are your uniforms?" Umbridge immediately shouted.

Astoria and Luna looked at her with expressions of complete confusion.

"Are you lost, Inspector?" Astoria asked, not answering Umbridge's question.

Umbridge tried to remain calm, as if she didn't want to show the panic she'd felt a moment ago in front of these girls, especially two daughters of her enemies.

"Ahem... How did you get in here? And what the hell is happening with this place? Do you know what that thing is? If you do, tell me right now," the inspector ordered.

Luna and Astoria looked at each other.

"What thing?" Luna and Astoria asked easily.

Umbridge frowned.

"That thing," Umbridge said, pointing toward the door, where only moments ago something could be heard scratching against the wood.

But when she pointed toward it, the noise had completely disappeared, and she couldn't even sense anyone behind the door anymore.

That made her expression even more confused.

"Didn't you hear it?" she asked the girls, who shook their heads.

But that answer only made Umbridge furious.

"Are you trying to make fun of me? There was obviously something there a moment ago! How could you not have heard it?" she said, raising her wand threateningly again.

But it had no effect on the two girls, who simply continued looking at her with the same calm expressions.

That only annoyed Umbridge even more, but she knew she couldn't do anything to these two brats, so she lowered her wand and once again took on an authoritative air.

"Whatever. If you're here, you must know how to get back to the Great Hall. Take me there," she ordered, temporarily giving up on finding that supposed chamber, since she felt a slight chill being in this section of the castle that was completely unknown to her.

"Of course, we know how to get back to the castle," Astoria explained.

"We don't know how to get back to the castle," Luna said calmly at the exact same time.

Astoria looked at her with a frown.

"Luna."

"What?"

"You're supposed to help."

"I am helping."

Umbridge watched them, and their presence was already getting on her nerves, especially because they were Pandora and Selene's daughters.

"Stop saying stupid things and just lead the way," she ordered.

THUMP.

All three looked toward the door.

Umbridge immediately raised her wand.

Luna and Astoria didn't seem worried.

Scrrrrch.

Something slowly scratched against the wood from the other side.

Umbridge stepped back.

"That... that's it. You're not going to tell me now that you can't hear it, are you? What is that thing?" Umbridge asked fearfully.

Luna looked toward the door.

"Oh, you're talking about Him."

Astoria, on the other hand, looked around the room as if she didn't even care.

Umbridge waited for them to continue explaining, but both remained completely silent.

"...Him who?" she asked irritably.

"Him," Luna repeated as if it were the simplest thing in the world.

"That doesn't answer my question!"

Umbridge was becoming more and more irritated with these damn brats who seemed to be playing with her.

Astoria let out a small tired sigh, although it wasn't clear whether it was directed at Luna or Umbridge herself.

"Don't worry, Inspector. He doesn't do anything if you run."

Umbridge immediately looked at her.

"If I run, he won't do anything to me?"

"No," Luna interrupted. "If you run, he chases you," she added with a completely serious expression.

Astoria frowned again and shook her head at her friend.

"That's a lie."

"No, it isn't."

"Yes, it is."

"No."

"Yes."

Umbridge began looking from one girl to the other as her breathing quickened from her contained fury.

"Enough! Are you playing with me? If this is some kind of joke, I hope you don't think you'll get away with it just because you're the daughters of those women!" she shouted furiously.

The two girls fell silent and turned their eyes back toward Umbridge, but at the same time, the door trembled slightly.

THUMP.

Umbridge took another step back.

"Answer me! What is that thing? And how do I get back to the Great Hall?" she asked as the noise seemed to make her more and more nervous.

Luna pointed toward a second door on the other side of the room.

"We can take you back. We just have to go through there."

"Are you sure?" Umbridge asked suspiciously.

"Yes."

Luna nodded calmly.

Astoria was about to open her mouth, but Luna turned her head toward her and stared at her. Then Astoria simply closed her mouth again without saying anything else and continued looking around the room.

Umbridge narrowed her eyes as she watched them acting strangely.

"You know what's going on."

"No," Astoria replied.

"Yes," Luna replied.

"Enough!"

THUMP!

This time, the door shook so violently that some dust fell from above.

Umbridge wasted no more time.

"It doesn't matter! I'll interrogate you later. Now take me back to the Great Hall, right now!" she ordered, afraid that if she spent any more time there, that thing outside might get in.

Luna and Astoria turned around at the same time.

"This way," they both said.

Umbridge hesitated for barely a second before following them.

The two girls opened the second door and stepped into another corridor.

Umbridge followed behind them, watching them suspiciously, without noticing the two small smiles that appeared on their faces as they walked.
