Chapter 133 - Who Made Wanda Angry? – Part 1

Who Made Wanda Angry? – Part 1

"In reality, I think Professor Maximoff could be a great romantic interest for many men. Even I might be interested. And I say that with confidence: I hope you don't mind, but I'm trying to win her over."

Dominic spoke with a soft smile and a firm gaze, as if he were offering a guarantee that could not be refused. He stood before Wanda, right in the middle of her office, without a shred of doubt in his voice.

Wanda watched him silently for a few seconds, one eyebrow slightly raised. It wasn't the first time she had received such a confession, not by far. Ever since she worked at the bookstore, it had been a common occurrence. Although, after destroying Hogwarts and becoming one of the most feared names in the wizarding world, those kinds of declarations had become less frequent. Still, there was always some idiot who thought he had a chance with a woman so beautiful… and so dangerous.

"You're quite confident," Wanda finally said, her face showing not the slightest trace of a smile.

"I tried being a bit more gentle, but it seems that with women like you, that doesn't work," Dominic replied, wearing that charming smile that could have melted anyone…

Except for the woman standing in front of him.

"I'm just being honest. Maybe that's better than stupid strategies or pointless games. So I hope you're prepared," he added with a touch of arrogance.

He turned around triumphantly and began walking toward the exit, though he stopped right at the doorway.

"Also, I'm sure I could be a great father figure. Raising a child on your own must have been difficult. I think I could get along well with your son… maybe even teach him to stay out of trouble. After all, I'm a teacher," he said casually, referring to the recent incident in which Harry had been taken by the disciplinary committee. In his mind, those words would surely earn him points. "I hope you're prepared," he repeated before leaving.

For an instant, Wanda's eyes glowed red. She raised her hand and aimed it toward the wall, as if tracking the man's movements through the stone. Her magic pulsed in the air, eager to be unleashed… but she restrained herself.

"I'm sure someone else deserves their revenge," she murmured, her face now completely cold.

She turned calmly and walked toward the door, since she still had a class to teach. But before she touched the doorknob, she froze. Her body disintegrated into a swirl of crimson particles that vanished into the air.

The reconstruction of Hogwarts was almost complete. Only the final checks remained: making sure every object returned to its place, inspecting wardrobes and dormitories to ensure nothing dangerous had been left behind. Everything would be ready for the next school year.

Or at least, it should have been.

Because now, the courtyard was nothing but a field of ruins.

In the middle of the chaos stood Dumbledore, wand in hand, his brow more furrowed than usual. Around him, four magical creatures of different types surrounded him with murderous intent.

Scarlet flames burned all around, licking at the shattered remains of the columns. From the three maws of a massive dog dripped thick saliva that released poisonous smoke as it touched the ground. A few meters away, a small unicorn trotted in circles, searching for a weak point in the old wizard's defenses. Atop the head of a red dragon, a tiny serpent hissed silently, while the dragon himself stared at Dumbledore with eyes that promised fire and death.

Dumbledore's expression was far more serious than in their previous encounters. At first, he had considered the creatures' attacks nothing more than a game — a controlled nuisance. But today was different. Today there was no pride or mockery in their eyes. Today, they were furious.

"Ah… I know this might make me look like the villain, but I'm sorry. Your little friend cannot exist. It's a danger to everyone, even to you. I hope you can understand," Dumbledore declared, attempting to appeal to reason.

It had all started as usual: with a surprise attack from that peculiar "gang." Normally, the headmaster would cast a few spells and escape without much trouble. But this time, something had frozen him completely for an instant… just before he was hit head-on by Red's charge.

When he regained control, he looked up and saw it — the small serpent on top of the dragon's head. And at that moment, he understood everything.

It wasn't an ordinary snake. It was a basilisk.

A legendary creature whose gaze could kill as it matured and whose fangs carried a venom with no known cure, except for phoenix tears. And now, that beast was on school grounds, allied with the most chaotic creatures in the forest.

Acting purely on instinct, Dumbledore attacked, trying to capture the basilisk before it was too late.

But they didn't let him. Red protected it immediately, and his companions followed suit. Their attacks — once measured to avoid causing serious damage — became devastating. The entire courtyard was reduced to rubble.

That's when Dumbledore noticed something terrifying: up until that moment, the creatures had always avoided harming anyone else. But now, they were willing to break their own limits… even to disobey orders. Red was prepared to defy any command to protect his small friend.

The situation became even more alarming when the dragon exhaled a torrent of fire so hot it surpassed even the flames of a phoenix. A spark grazed the old man's hand, and for an instant, it felt as though he had plunged it into molten lava. When the beast's jaws snapped shut, they bit through the air with a force capable of shattering any magical barrier.

Dumbledore glanced down at his bloodied hand. It bore the marks of a partial bite, and one of his fingers was raw and exposed, consumed by the burn.

Only his reflexes — sharpened by decades of experience — and the fact that Hogwarts' barrier was still incomplete had allowed him to Apparate just in time. If not, he probably would have lost the entire hand.

Even the other two beasts, who had once attacked as if it were all just a game, were now fighting seriously. The enormous three-headed dog spat saliva that turned into acid when it hit the ground, and the air grew heavy with the oppressive aura of the very guardian of the underworld.

And the unicorn… even he, a symbol of purity and life, glared at Dumbledore with pure hatred, as if the mere fact of his existence were an offense that had to be erased.

"I'm sorry, but I have to do this. After all, I almost got into trouble because of a basilisk I didn't even know was here," said Dumbledore before raising his wand once again.

"Gruuuh…"

A low growl rumbled from Red's chest. His body began to change shape, every muscle tightening as if he were about to unleash a cataclysm. Sharp crimson spikes sprouted from his head and ran down his spine, extending all the way to the tip of his tail. Two curved horns emerged from his forehead, giving him the appearance of an ancient war dragon. His size increased by about thirty centimeters, and with it, the pressure in the air grew heavier.

His teeth now seemed sharper than ever, capable of tearing through stone and steel alike, and his claws gleamed with a deadly shine, as though they could rip apart any defense that stood in his way.

Even Dumbledore, with all his years of experience, widened his eyes in mild surprise at the transformation of the once-friendly little dragon he used to watch playing from his office tower. Still, he did not hesitate — he lifted his wand and launched a spell directly at the basilisk.

Red charged forward with an earth-shaking roar, showing no fear of the deadly spell rushing toward him. He was ready to devour the magic itself if necessary…

But before the two forces could collide, a crimson flash illuminated the air.

One hand crushed the spell with insulting ease.

The other stopped the dragon in his tracks.

Wanda had suddenly appeared at the center of the battlefield. Her figure floated amid the devastation with the terrifying calm of a predator that had no need to prove its power. She surveyed the scene for a few seconds — first the creatures, then Red… and finally Dumbledore, who frowned deeply upon seeing her. Every encounter with that woman brought danger and threats, and more than once, she had followed through on them.

As if she had understood the entire situation at a single glance, Wanda exhaled softly, extended her hand, and took hold of the small serpent. Red instantly calmed down at the sight of her, returning to his normal form. Even his eyes reflected a silent complaint, as if he were saying that everything was the old man's fault for attacking one of his own.

"It's alright… calm down," Wanda whispered, gently stroking the dragon's head. The serpent coiled around her wrist, seeking safety as though that place were its natural refuge. After all, it was barely a newborn… and the old man had already tried to kill it twice, even with its friends defending it with everything they had.

Dumbledore opened his mouth to speak, but Wanda spoke first, as if she already knew every word he was about to say.

"No, I'm not a hypocrite," she said firmly. "A creature created to kill students was in your castle, and you were right to eliminate it. But this… this is different. What you have before you is just a snake — a special one, yes, but only a snake. Basilisks no longer exist… and they never will again."

The old man's eyes narrowed with suspicion.

"I see… then perhaps I was mistaken," he replied, slowly lowering his wand.

"You always are," Wanda replied coldly.

Dumbledore held her gaze for a moment before speaking. "I am still the headmaster of this school. And these creatures are dangerous. I'm afraid you'll have to move them somewhere else. At first, I thought they were harmless, but I don't want them used one day as an excuse to try and take my position." Then he turned around, ready to leave.

"Don't worry then," Wanda said in an icy tone, "I'll destroy every dangerous creature in the Forbidden Forest."

The old man stopped dead in his tracks. His dealings with those creatures were no secret… and not all of them were as dangerous as the world believed. But in Wanda's eyes, that didn't matter.

"If they destroy something or harm someone, I expect you to take responsibility — just as they attacked me," Dumbledore replied, turning his face toward her with seriousness. For a brief moment, his mask of the wise headmaster cracked, revealing a flash of irritation before he walked away for good.

Wanda watched him leave. For a moment, her eyes turned red again, but she did nothing. After all, she knew her son enjoyed making the old man's life a living hell… and perhaps that was the best punishment. He wasn't an enemy worthy of destruction, just a stubborn old fool who deserved to be driven mad with pranks and chaos.

The creatures ran to surround her, joyful and relieved — especially because their small friend was safe. Wanda lowered her gaze to her wrist, where the tiny serpent slept curled up, refusing to leave her. It lifted its little head to look up at her with curiosity.

Wanda gently stroked its head before turning her gaze to Red.

"I'll take her with me… so she doesn't learn any nonsense from you," she said with a sigh.

Red threw himself to the ground, rolled theatrically, and wagged his tail proudly.

"You can keep causing trouble," Wanda added with a faint smile, "but I told you not to destroy the castle. The money to rebuild it comes out of our pocket."

She knew perfectly well that the chaotic dragon would keep doing whatever he wanted, even if she forbade it. Unless she watched him constantly — an impossible task — it was better to just let him act… under her own terms.

Red stood up with a triumphant roar, showing his determination. He was ready to keep challenging Dumbledore for as long as it took.

Wanda turned, ready to leave, but before disappearing, she cast one last look toward the castle — not at the castle itself, but in its direction. Her expression hardened for a moment, a flicker of anger crossing her eyes… and then, with a flash of crimson energy, she vanished just as suddenly as she had appeared.
