Alistair's gaze fell on Amelia's three bodyguards.
He was not unfamiliar with these three; they possessed considerable strength within the Fenwick family, otherwise, they wouldn't have been chosen to protect Amelia.
He asked in a deep voice, "Aren't you Amelia's bodyguards? Why didn't you appear earlier to protect her?"
Julia had her reasons, "We didn't anticipate that Carlotta White would do such a thing. It was completely unexpected. By the time we reacted, the young lady had already been taken hostage."

Alistair sneered repeatedly. How could he possibly believe Julia's words? He still didn't believe that Amelia could be so easily taken hostage. It was all a ruse, a pretense by Carlotta and Amelia!
With that, he leaped forward, charging directly at Carlotta, aiming to capture her.
After all, Carlotta was only at the apprentice level and would have no power to resist him.
