Entei, freshly ascended to Champion-level, gave Xu Fei a glance filled with understanding then turned toward MEGA Gardevoir, eyes blazing with renewed vigor.
"Good! Entei! Sacred Fire, once more!"
Xu Fei shouted, sensing the burning battle spirit in Entei's aura.
Entei roared. A spiral of sacred flame, stronger and purer than before, surged from his maw its radiant glow far brighter than any of his previous attacks.
"Gardevoir! Moonblast!"
Chen Xiaoxiao's eyes gleamed with excitement. Other than battling Metagross under Champion control, she had rarely found a match worthy of MEGA Gardevoir's full strength.
Above MEGA Gardevoir's hands, a glowing full moon formed radiating power even more intense than her earlier casting of the move.
Boom!
Holy fire clashed with radiant lunar energy!
BOOM!
The arena shook from the impact as the two powerful moves collided mid-air. For several tense seconds, the attacks vied for dominance neither side yielding.
But eventually, the balance tipped.
Though Entei's Sacred Fire was far more potent than before, it still lost out to the sheer force of MEGA Gardevoir's Moonblast.
After all, Entei had just broken into Champion-level territory his aura was unstable, his experience insufficient. Meanwhile, MEGA Gardevoir had been trained extensively in high-tier duels, even against Chen Xiaoxiao's Solgaleo. Her Champion-tier strength had long since matured.
Her control of level 213-tier energy was solid and efficient far beyond Entei's early-stage Champion presence.
"Gardevoir! Future Sight!"
Chen Xiaoxiao knew better than to let Xu Fei stabilize.
She seized the brief opening and issued a command while Xu Fei was still distracted by the previous clash.
A cerulean pulse expanded outward from MEGA Gardevoir her eyes glinting with otherworldly power as the Future Sight technique was engraved into the battlefield.
Then—calm.
Like a wave that had passed unnoticed, the light faded, leaving no sign of danger.
"Entei, Snarl!"
Realizing his hesitation had cost him, Xu Fei responded quickly, aiming to weaken MEGA Gardevoir's Special Attack stat through sound-based disruption.
But
"Too slow, Xu Fei! Gardevoir, Protect! Then Confusion!"
The margin in Champion-tier battles was razor-thin. A half-second delay could mean checkmate.
MEGA Gardevoir acted immediately an emerald-green barrier surged in front of her, absorbing Entei's Snarl effortlessly.
And even as the shield dissipated, her eyes glowed again this time, a pulse of Confusion erupted, directed toward Entei!
Then—another glow!
A second blue surge surrounded MEGA Gardevoir. The previous Confusion wasn't the true attack.
"Entei! Flamethrower!"
Xu Fei gave the counter command fast, trying to push back the incoming power. But he could feel it that rising aura from MEGA Gardevoir wasn't done.
Worse he had forgotten Future Sight was still looming overhead.
BOOM!
Flamethrower blasted forward this time overpowering the incoming Confusion! Entei roared in triumph.
"Now! Gardevoir! Psychic!"
Chen Xiaoxiao's eyes sharpened.
This had been the real plan.
The earlier Confusion was merely a setup.
Back in Chapter 56, Chen Xiaoxiao had developed a battle style with MEGA Gardevoir involving tiered casting using Confusion to partially charge and queue up Psychic, like Stockpiling.
Psychic now launched at full power built upon the residual momentum of Confusion.
That was why Chen Xiaoxiao had shouted three commands earlier: Protect, Confusion, and Psychic.

Xu Fei's face twisted Entei had just expended his energy on the Flamethrower. Now, he was caught in the vulnerable transition where the previous power faded but no new command had stabilized.

MEGA Gardevoir's Psychic attack detonated directly in front of Entei, unleashing a devastating mental blast amplified by her Champion-level presence and Mega Evolution boost.

A delayed burst from another dimension slammed the battlefield!
Entei howled, forced to his knees, scorched and trembling from the double strike.
Chen Xiaoxiao's tactic had landed perfectly—just as Xu Fei feared.
The tide of battle had turned once more.
A powerful psychic force condensed beneath the blazing blue aura radiating from MEGA Gardevoir.
A terrifying Psychic burst forth, clashing head-on with Entei's Flamethrower, shattering it like dry bamboo under a storm!
Then, without losing momentum, the attack surged directly toward Entei, who was still releasing flames from his mouth.
BOOM!
The Psychic blast struck Entei squarely!
Entei was blasted backward across the battlefield, letting out a pained and ferocious roar!
"Entei!"
Hearing Entei's anguished cry, Xu Fei couldn't help but shout out in alarm.
As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours—just as the last attack ended, a new force loomed!
At that moment, a strange, chilling sensation returned to the battlefield.
Entei, now sprawled on the ground and wreathed in smoke, was suddenly engulfed by an invisible but overwhelming wave of Future Sight energy.
Space itself began to distort faintly around Entei!
It was MEGA Gardevoir's Future Sight, now activating with devastating timing!
"Gardevoir! Moonblast! Finish it!"
Chen Xiaoxiao saw the opportunity and struck decisively.
A brilliant, radiant moon condensed before MEGA Gardevoir's outstretched arms and shot high into the sky—glistening as it prepared to crash down with blinding power.
"Entei, dodge it, get out of there!" Xu Fei bellowed desperately.
But the psychic distortion locked onto Entei like a noose.
BOOM!
Entei didn't even have the chance to roar again before the Moonblast struck!
BOOM!
After taking three powerful moves Psychic, Future Sight, and Moonblast—Entei let out a final, unwilling roar.
Then his eyes spun like spirals, signaling complete loss of consciousness.
Entei had been defeated!
"Entei!"
Seeing that Entei had lost the ability to battle, Xu Fei dashed over in concern.
"Entei is unable to battle—Gardevoir wins! With all three of Xu Fei of Nanyun's Pokémon defeated, Chen Xiaoxiao of Shencheng claims victory in this match!"
The official referee, Zhang Guoxiong, raised his flag and made the final judgment without hesitation.
"You've fought hard, Entei. Return."
Though Xu Fei was reluctant, he quickly steadied his emotions.
After all, he was a seasoned trainer experienced in hundreds of battles. Win or lose, it was all part of the journey.
He applied Potion to Entei, confirmed there were no major injuries, then returned him to his Poké Ball.
"Miss Xiaochun, I'll trouble you with this."
He handed Entei's Poké Ball to the receptionist who had originally guided Chen Xiaoxiao into the gym, asking her to escort it to the facility's advanced healing chamber.
"Chen Xiaoxiao… thank you."
Xu Fei turned to Chen Xiaoxiao with a sincere and grateful expression.
"You're welcome. Just what I needed."
Chen Xiaoxiao responded with a light smile.
After all—how could one not smile when a generous trainer handed over not just experience and points, but rare information?
It was like receiving a golden gift basket.
And what a reward it was.
