Ancient Secrets
***Arin's POV**
Beneath us, the stone floor cracked open like an egg. As we all fell into total darkness, I caught Sage and Ember. We fell for what seemed like an eternity, but was probably just a few seconds, and my heart raced.
We struck a soft surface with force. We were lying on a stack of old fur blankets in a room filled with glowing crystals when I opened my eyes.
"Where are we now?" Fear causing River to waver between invisible and visible, she asked.
I got the children up and took a look around. We were definitely not in the Void anymore. The paintings and symbols that covered the walls appeared to be very old.
I remarked, "I believe we're in the actual chambers beneath the Moonwell. When we fell, the shadow man's trap must have broken."
Luna whispered, "Look at this," indicating the wall closest to us.
