Arin's POV
I said, "I'll follow you." "Just give her up."
Through Malik's face, Thanatos grinned. "I hoped you would say that."
Malik's free hand suddenly sprang forward and caught my wrist at that moment. Thanatos's power struck my mind like a sledgehammer the instant his skin touched mine.
The triplets yelling my name was the last sound I heard before everything went dark.
I was in a completely different place when I opened my eyes. And I wasn't alone.
I screamed when I woke up. I was shooting holes in the stone walls, my hands burning with silver light. Even though someone was screaming my name and shaking me, I was unable to stop the energy from leaking out of me.
"Hey Arin! Awaken!"
At last, the nightmare was broken by Kael's voice. The silver light died as I gasped. The room was cold, but my face was drenched in sweat, and my entire body was trembling.
As I looked at the smoking holes I had made in the wall, I muttered, "The nightmares are getting worse."
