So, we all know that Luz Noceda didn't have any friends in the Human Realm. But in this story, she has...one friend. This one friend's name is Nick Brown. Nick is a boy who loves drawing comic books about a strange, Stag Beetle/Dragon-like, superhero from his dreams, and has been Luz's best, and only, friend since she and her family moved to Gravesfield, as he is the only person who accepts Luz for who she is, including her interests. One day, when Luz's mother, Camila, decides to have Nick and Luz attend a "Reality Check" Summer Camp, they both end up in another dimension called the "Boiling Isle". There, they meet a Witch named Eda Clawthorn, with Luz becoming her apprentice, while Nick discovers that he possesses unique abilities, and that his "dreams" might be more then just that.
