Chapter 276 - Chapter 276-112: Imu, God Knights, etc! THE GREAT PIRATE ERA IS OVER! (Completed)

Elbaf, the Land of Giants.

It's hailed as the strongest nation in the world. Giants are born mighty, gifted with terrifying strength no other race can match. Yet Elbaf has never joined the World Government's alliance—it stands proud and unyielding.

Chiyu and Franky arrived in Elbaf, whose very heart is the colossal Treasure Tree Adam—something that immediately caught Franky's eye. Chiyu, however, went straight to searching for the "man with burns."

They met Elbaf's elder, "Mountain Beard" Jarul. After some negotiation, the elder told Chiyu that the burned man he sought might be someone called "Ashan-shi," and gave them his location.

Chiyu found "Ashan-shi," and realized he was in fact one of the Roger Pirates' two right-hand men… Scopper Gaban.

These days Gaban lived in seclusion on Elbaf and wanted nothing to do with worldly affairs. Even so, he wasn't blind to them—he knew the name Uchiha Chiyu and his deeds. He asked about Rayleigh, and Chiyu answered honestly without hiding anything. In exchange, Gaban told Chiyu where the last Road Poneglyph was.

It lay in Elbaf's "Underworld."

Specifically, the lowest level beneath Treasure Tree Adam, where Elbaf's most vicious criminal, "Prince Loki," was imprisoned.

Chiyu descended into the Underworld and met the legendary Loki. Loki called himself the Sun God and worshiped the great pirate Rocks; for the crime of patricide he had been locked away in the Underworld ever since. He offered to reveal the Road Poneglyph's location in exchange for his freedom.

Chiyu didn't particularly care—he released Loki. He then found the last Road Poneglyph in the Underworld and successfully took a full rubbing of its text.

Right then, the God Knights arrived.

They included their commander, Figarland Garling Saint—Shanks's father. Figarland Shamrock Saint—Shanks's elder twin brother. Killingham Saint, Sommers Saint, Gunko Saint, and many others. Their mission, of course, was to carry out Imu-sama's order to eradicate Chiyu once and for all.

They also intended to recruit Loki into the God Knights. Loki refused and, having been freed by Chiyu, chose to fight at his side against them.

The battle that followed turned heaven and earth upside down; sun and moon lost their light; all of Treasure Tree Adam shook and shuddered.

At that moment, two more forces arrived: the Revolutionary Army led by Dragon, and Shanks's Red-Hair Pirates. Their positions differed, but they were alike in this—they stood against the Celestial Dragons.

Monkey D. Dragon went straight for the God Knights' commander, Garling Saint, and the two clashed head-on. Shanks and his twin brother Shamrock Saint fought to the death. Loki battled Killingham Saint. Chiyu fought two at once—Sommers Saint and Manmayer Gunko Saint.

The titanic clash shook all of Elbaf to its roots. In the end, Chiyu still pushed his foes down and even slew Sommers Saint. In the instant before he could finish Manmayer Gunko Saint—

Imu finally acted.

He possessed Manmayer Gunko's body, transforming him into a demon: horns sprouted from his head, black wings unfurled from his back, a spiked tail lashed into being, and his power surged. Not only that, Imu could force others—friend or foe—to assume the same demonic form, amplifying their strength while seizing total control of them.

In a heartbeat, many among the Red-Hair Pirates, the Revolutionary Army, and Elbaf's warriors turned into demons and hurled themselves at Chiyu's side.

The battle for Elbaf dissolved into chaos.

Even so, because Imu had not descended in person, the possessed Manmayer Gunko was no match for Chiyu and was defeated. Elsewhere, Dragon personally cut down Garling Saint. Shanks and his brother Shamrock Saint left each other on the brink of death. Loki slew Killingham Saint. But the Red-Hair Pirates, the Revolutionary Army, and Elbaf all paid a terrible price in blood.

Dragging along the mortally wounded Manmayer Gunko Saint, Shamrock Saint fled Elbaf in disgrace. Imu left a vow for Chiyu: the final duel would be held on the last island, Laugh Tale.

Grievously injured and now completely severed from his father and brother, Red-Hair Shanks stated his stance clearly. He and his crew, drained of strength, withdrew and gave up the final war. Dragon, supreme commander of the Revolutionary Army, said he looked forward to the new world Chiyu would build; the Army was willing to support it and accept Chiyu's leadership—once that new world was born.

Chiyu finally left Elbaf, went first to Wano, found Kozuki Sukiyaki, and at last deciphered all four Road Poneglyphs' true texts and coordinates.

He then confirmed the location of Laugh Tale—the Final Island.

But Chiyu didn't head there alone. He chose instead to announce the coordinates to the entire world. He wasn't a pirate and had no desire to be Pirate King.

What he wanted was to turn the world upside down.

And so…

Every pirate of the New World, every faction, set sail for the Final Island to begin the last war. Chiyu's Undying Legion, Whitebeard's alliance with the Straw Hats, Blackbeard's Destroyer Alliance—aside from Shanks's crew, who withdrew—the Yonko all arrived.

The Marines, under Fleet Admiral Sakazuki (Akainu), also moved. Kizaru (Borsalino) and Fujitora (Issho) marched as well. The surviving Five Elders and the God Knights, under Imu's orders, secretly led the last of their elite, waiting for the decisive battle to erupt.

Naturally, Chiyu was the first to arrive.

Laugh Tale, the Final Island.

There, Chiyu finally read the True History of the Void Century.

Eight hundred years ago, a vast technological kingdom reached unprecedented heights. United and forward-looking, they forged a brilliant civilization and prepared to cross the void of space to set sail for the sea of stars. At the height of their power, twenty other kingdoms joined forces to annihilate them. Their radiance was extinguished; the voyage to the stars was cut short. The world of One Piece turned inward, away from the heavens.

The newly formed World Government forbade people to speak of or even know these truths. They blocked the Poneglyphs and erased a hundred years of history.

For centuries, the Celestial Dragons and the World Government oppressed the world with cruel punishments, harsh rule, absolute power—deciding life and death, burning and pillaging, enslaving the masses, toying with everything at will.

Chiyu did not hesitate—he made it all public, letting the world learn the truth.

As for the ultimate treasure, the ONE PIECE—it was a spatial gateway to the sea of stars, or, put another way, a device like a spacecraft. Start it, and you can truly leave this world, traverse the starry sea, and even find countless…

New Worlds.

Because of this, the closed, inward-looking World Government—so jealous of its own rule and freedoms—could never allow it to be found.

The Pirate King Roger had discovered all of this, but found he could not activate ONE PIECE. The requirements were too exacting…

The combined power of the Ancient Weapons—Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus.

Or the bloodline of the one who left all this behind…

Joy Boy.

Roger had neither, so he left it to those who would come after.

During the battle in the waters around Laugh Tale, the Whitebeard Pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates finally settled their feud. The slaughter was catastrophic—both sides bled dry.

When Blackbeard tried to kill Ace, Luffy awakened the power of the Nika Fruit and defeated him. Imu understood then that Luffy carried Joy Boy's bloodline and will. Imu moved to kill Luffy, but Garp arrived and saved his grandson at the cost of his own life. A Marine to the end, Garp despised the Celestial Dragons—perhaps this was the ending he chose.

In fury, Luffy demanded a duel to the death with Imu. Two of the Five Elders tried to stop him; Luffy killed one. The God Knights were driven back. The "natural enemy of the gods," the will of the D, burned bright in that moment.

Bearing everyone's hopes, Luffy threw everything into activating ONE PIECE—but failed. Knowing the truth, Imu seized control of him; Luffy could no longer fight.

At that desperate moment, Franky arrived at last, piloting the fully completed Ancient Weapon—Pluton, the warship. Out at sea, Poseidon—Princess Shirahoshi of Fish-Man Island—responded to Chiyu's call and came as well. As for Uranus, it was Imu's ultimate weapon for obliterating islands, nations, and powers. He brought it to stop them—and instead, it became the key to starting ONE PIECE.

Chiyu seized Uranus. He now stood as the one who held all three Ancient Weapons—Uranus, Poseidon, and Pluton. He activated ONE PIECE at last, and the people of the world saw the sea of stars with their own eyes.

Imu went berserk, unleashing the ultimate power of his Devil Fruit—

Zoan, Mythical Model: Demon.

One reason Devil Fruits bear that name is this—at the pinnacle, the fruit's power itself is the power to become a demon.

Imu sank deeper into darkness, twisting and controlling those present, and waged the final battle against Chiyu. Chiyu, unfazed, cut down foes until the world ran red.

At the end, Imu had no choice but to reveal his true self: one of the founders of the World Government and the alliance of twenty kingdoms—

Saint Nerona Imu.

He had eaten an ultimate Devil Fruit—the Demon model—and lived eight hundred years, ruling from the shadows and toying with the world. But even that ultimate demonic form could not defeat Chiyu.

Chiyu fused all his power and created a force utterly opposed to and suppressing the demon—

God-Form.

With God-Form's power, Chiyu crushed Imu's demonic form and, with thunder and flame, purified him completely—scattering him to the winds.

Imu fell. The Five Elders fell. The God Knights fell.

The era of the Celestial Dragons ended forever.

The final battle at Laugh Tale closed with Chiyu's complete victory. Imu and the Celestial Dragons became dust of history. The Void Century was proclaimed to the world. The truth of ONE PIECE stood revealed. The Great Pirate Era ended as well.

From then on, Chiyu controlled the power of the whole world.

The Marines faced a new transformation. Akainu fought Chiyu and chose to die at his great rival's hand. With his last breath he told Chiyu, "Uchiha Chiyu, you're the one I've hated most—but also the one I respect most. To die by your hand… might be the best end for me."

Kizaru (Borsalino) left the Marines and set out to travel the world with Sentomaru. It's said he met Aokiji (Kuzan), who had also left the Marines, and invited him to journey together. Fujitora (Issho) did not resign; he pledged to help Chiyu forge a new naval order.

Chiyu took command of the world. He declared: the Celestial Dragons would be executed to the last. Those who had squatted on the Red Line, in Mary Geoise, on the Sabaody Archipelago—were slain by enraged citizens and Marines alike, erased without a trace.

Afterward, Chiyu rebuilt the World Government and became King of the World. The world's kingdoms and powers could still govern themselves, but all would accept the Government's oversight, mediation, management, and reform.

No more Celestial Dragons. No more Heavenly Tribute. No more slavery, oppression, human trafficking, or racial discrimination. Fish-Man Island finally rose to the surface; King Neptune and Princess Shirahoshi saw the sun of their dreams.

East Blue, West Blue, South Blue, and North Blue connected into a single, interlinked world sea. The Red Line was cut open; the Calm Belt vanished. The four seas flowed into each other; ordinary folk could travel the Red Line like anywhere else. Many powers began founding countries atop it.

Chiyu decreed the end of the Great Pirate Era. All pirates had a choice—surrender, submit, disband… or die.

Red-Hair Shanks dissolved his crew and returned with his men to Foosha Village to drink and make merry. The Whitebeard Pirates also disbanded; Marco and the remaining crew went to Whitebeard's grave to watch over their "old man" and live ordinary lives.

The Straw Hat Pirates disbanded as well. Luffy and his crewmates returned to Foosha Village and met Red-Hair Shanks there, continuing life together.

Nika's blessing—and curse—faded away. Luffy was just Luffy, with nothing left…

Except freedom.

Zoro trained daily with Mihawk, chasing the day he would surpass his master. The Revolutionary Army kept its promise and brought the countries it had liberated under the banner of Chiyu's new government. Dragon returned to Foosha Village with Sabo; father and son reunited, and the three brothers—Sabo, Ace, and Luffy—were together again at last, all smiles.

Chiyu had governed entire worlds before; he quickly set the new government on the right track. The world calmed and surged into rapid development. The Grand Line was gone; ships could sail freely between islands; diplomacy flourished; ocean trade boomed.

Economy, population, military, culture, transport, education, technology—every field soared. In just three to five years, the world of One Piece blossomed into prosperity, highly developed and restored to the glory of the ancient great kingdom.

Black Arm Zephyr became the new Commander-in-Chief of the World Government—the post once held by Steel Bone Kong—and at the same time served as Fleet Admiral. Kong, Sengoku, and Tsuru all retired and set off to travel the world.

Within the Marines, Smoker, Hina, and Fujitora (Issho) became the new three Admirals. Bred, Box, Barbara, Ain, Binz, Shuzo, Tashigi, and others rose to Vice Admiral of Marine Headquarters.

The Pirate Empress Boa Hancock returned to Amazon Lily to rebuild and strengthen her nation. Trafalgar Law headed for a wider world he had long yearned to see. Franky kept building ships—only now they weren't for the sea, but starships meant to conquer the cosmos.

Chiyu handed all the ancient kingdom's science and technology he had obtained from Laugh Tale to Franky, who was over the moon and dove straight into new research. Nami had grown into her role as an official overseeing maritime transport; with her talent and knowledge, she began redrawing the charts of the entire world.

Chiyu wiped out Impel Down's inmates but did not dismiss Hannyabal and Magellan, leaving them in charge. He linked the great prison with Enies Lobby for real; Chiyu appointed Smoker as the supreme chief over Enies Lobby and Impel Down, responsible for all matters of justice, trial, judgment, and punishment. He also reinstated Vegapunk to work with Franky and others on new technology.

In short order, the technology and knowledge left within ONE PIECE were gradually deciphered. The portal systems were reactivated. Star-warships rolled off the lines…

Chiyu proclaimed to the world:

THE GREAT PIRATE ERA IS OVER.

This is now the…

SPACE AGE!

Countless people who had been left idle found a new fire lighting in their hearts. Kong, Sengoku, Tsuru, Kizaru, Aokiji, Dragon, Shanks, Marco, Luffy, Sabo, Ace, and many, many more all volunteered to join the first wave of space exploration. Chiyu approved each of them, and they began a new journey through the ONE PIECE gateway.

Chiyu's own followers—including Law, Baby 5, and others—likewise set sail for the sea of stars.

A new era began.

Everything brimmed with hope.

Chiyu's goal was realized to perfection.

The world of One Piece…

Remade.

Watching starships streak into the heavens, Chiyu allowed himself a small, satisfied smile.

"Our journey is the sea of stars."

But for Chiyu, the world of Naruto and the world of One Piece were only beginnings. His journey lay in even more new worlds. He left a projection of himself within the One Piece world and then—

His true self turned away and stepped into the endless multiverse.

(The End)
