Fear coursed through my veins. Had alpha Lopen made Jacqueline fall off the roof?
"Lopen, what's the meaning of this?!" Alpha Gawin roared, launching himself at Lopen and grabbing his collar. "Explain yourself"
Lopen pulls Gawin's hands away from his collar. "What do I need to explain? It's simply what it is; An eye for an eye"
"An eye for an eye, you say?" Gawin snarled, pointing at me. "Your so-called wife is still alive and well but my daughter is five feet under ground!"
Lopen shrugs. "You should have expected this much when you sent a bunch of idiots to break into my home"
"Get out!. Right this instant!"
"Gladly. Emmiel, let's go"
With his hands in mine, Lopen and I strolled out of Gawin's house. But it wasn't an easy exit.
The gates were blocked by a troupe of Alphas. I could tell from their scent.
"You're not leaving this place until I say so" Gawin threatened from behind us.
Turning slightly to face Gawin, Lopen says. "You really want to fight this out, don't you?"
"You killed my daughter!"
Lopen groans. "You've said that a thousand times already. Say something new. You know what? Let's just get this over with"
Turning to face the alphas that surrounded us, Lopen adds. "Let me give you guys some advise. Touch my wife and your death is going to be faster than you can ever imagine"
The corners of alpha Gawin's lips twitched. "He's all talk. Attack at once and get me that omega!"
With coordinated movements, the troupe of alphas launched a simultaneous attack on Lopen.
"Stay back, Emmiel" Lopen advises. "If you get captured, I'll be very angry"
He tossed me a gun. "Don't be afraid to pull the trigger this time. I can't always be watching over you"
With that said, Lopen throws himself at the alphas; fighting tooth and nail.
I panicked watching him get hurt. I had to do something but fear still consumed me.
Lopen was an alpha by birth and blood. It was completely normal for him to have a head-on battle with alphas.
But for me, it wasn't easy for me to stand out and attack an alpha ranking much higher than me.
In that moment when I panicked for the sake of Lopen, a rough hand grabbed my shoulders from behind. It was Alpha Gawin's.
"I've got you!" He snarled.
"No. Let go off me, please" I plead, trying to break out of his grasp but his grip on me was too strong.
"Relax" Gawin growls into my ears. "Your death would be swift and less painful"
What did he mean by that? Peeping at Gawin through the corners of my eyes, I saw that he had a syringe in his hands. "W-What is that?"
"Just something that will make you sleep for a long period of time"
No. I didn't want to die. Not yet. My pleas wouldn't reach Alpha Gawin's ears. Not that I was surprised.
He had lost his only daughter because of me. His anger was completely justified. But I didn't want my story to end here. Not right now, or like this anyways.
As the syringe came closer to the side of my neck, I felt the gun in my hand. And without thinking, I closed my eyes shut and pulled the trigger.
The loud resounding gunshot brings the chaos in the house to a halt.
"Well, I'll be damned" Lopen says, from afar. "You really do know how to kill a person"
My eyes flies wide open at Lopen's words and it was then I saw the result of my action; I'd shot Alpha Gawin.
My hands trembled as his lifeless body laid beside my feet. In a daze, the gun falls from my hands as I sink to my knees, holding my head. "I..I killed a person"
"Now that your leader is dead. Let's make this snappy so that I can return back to my wife" Lopen informs the troupe of alphas as he propels into action; taking them down all at once.
But my attention wasn't fixed on Lopen's fight anymore. It was fixed on the dead man that laid beneath my feet.
I feel a strong hand on my shoulders which makes me instantly flinch. Looking up, I find Lopen infront of me badly wounded and bleeding.
With a sense of urgency, I rise up to my feets taking his face in my hands. "You're bleeding, everywhere"
Lopen holds my hands against his face. "Are you worried about me right now after you just killed a man?"
I shake my head. "No. I'm not. I'm just trying to get it out of my mind by focusing my attention on you"
A slow smirk splays across Lopen's face. "You've gotten quite better in telling the truth. It fascinates me"
Sliding my hands down from his face to hold the end of his sleeve, I admit. "I want to go home. I want to leave this place. Please, take me away from here"
"I'll do that under one condition"
"Which is?"
"Let me fuck your brains out as soon as we get home so that you can forget about your first kill. What do you say?"
Was he saying this to make me feel better? Or was it just Lopen's way of saying he wanted to have sex with me when we get home?
Whatever it was, I wasn't in the mood to deny him. "It sounds like you're giving me a choice"
"That's because I am"
"That's unlike you"
Wrapping my arms around Lopen's shoulders, I whispered. "Why wait till we get home when we can do it right here?. I want to forget" I admit. "Please, help m—"
Lopen captures my lips roughly for a kiss. I could taste blood off his lips. "You can be so fucking hot when you want to, do you know that?"
I shake my head. "I don't
Lopen chuckled. "Then, let me spell it out for you"
