Solavara stands at the back of the elevator, her reflection framed in gold and brushed steel. The mirrored walls do nothing to hide her restlessness. She adjusts the hem of her tight dress, emerald velvet, cut low and high in all the right places. Then tilts her chin up to check her posture.
"Calm yourself, Sol." she tells herself, but her smile betrays her.
The elevator hums upward, her nerves rising with it. She isn't sure what to expect. A wine tasting? A rooftop dinner? Perhaps a private concert?
But no. This is Vanessa Moonbloof.
And Miss Moonblood doesn't do ordinary.
She chuckles softly, one hand pressing against her fluttering stomach. "Get a grip," she mutters. "You're not some schoolgirl on her first date."
The elevator chimes.
She takes a breath, adjusts her chest one last time, and steps toward the penthouse doors… only to pause, brows rising as a soft stream of mist curled from beneath them. The smell hits her.
Sweet, floral, intoxicating.
She grins.
