If I absorb too much of her life force… it could lead to her death. And not just hers — mine too.
I grip that thought tightly.
Since I've reincarnated into a world where cultivation exists, I can't waste this chance. Compared to my last life — dull, confined, ordinary — this life holds potential.
This time, I'll see how far I can go.
This time, I'll climb to the very peak of cultivation.
But not like this.
'Is there a way to cultivate without draining her life-force?' I wonder, eyes scanning the environment around me.
That's when I notice it.
The fluid.
A murky golden fluid.
Amniotic fluid.
I remember from biology: It helps develop muscles and organs — shapes the babies body in the womb.
And suddenly, an idea strikes.
'Isn't this… a resource?'
My lips — or whatever semblance of lips I now have — curl into a faint smile.
This is my chance to break the limits of infancy itself.
I still myself and center my focus.
Slowly, I draw in the essence of the fluid while guiding the Qi at the same time to spread the energy througout my bones and muscles
- 3 Months Later -
My bones are not as brittle anymore, I feel stronger compared to before.
But power has a price.
The Qi within me is nearly drained — what little I can safely draw from my surroundings has dwindled.
I allow myself to fall into deep slumber.
I have pushed my body to it's limits, the most I can do is prepare for the next stage.
Birth.
