Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Skill Level Up

[Labyrinth Creation (Level 1)-->(Level 2)]

[Dungeon Master(Infancy)]

[Skill Inherited: Labyrinth Creation (Level 1—>2)]

[Grace Period: 29:01:53:46 Remaining]

Eun-ho glanced between the new summoned units and the level up screen. He only summoned three units, but there was already a level up.

[New function(s) unlocked!]

[Restructure (Level 1)]

[Description: Restructure the [Dungeon] using SC. The higher the level, the more the terrain will follow your will]

[Option(s): Grassland, Graveyard, Ruins, Dark Forest, Flower field, Ocean, Island…>>continue?]

[Recommended starter fields: Ruins, Dark Forest, Castle, Fortress]

[Facilities (Level 1)]

[Description: Use them at your earliest convenience. The higher the level, the better the facilities]

[Option(s): Research center (level 1), Farm (Level 1)]

[Restructure] was a skill he knew about but [Facilities] was not. It seems like, when it comes to naturally born [Dungeon Masters], the system holds back on a lot of things. With this, he had even more of an advantage.

If possible, maybe there was a way for him to passively get SC without using the "other" method or [Loans], only time will tell.

Eun-ho turned his attention back to the two new units, one standing still calmly, the other in a battle stance.

He pondered something. He didn't have any battle experience in this new body of his. His gaze landed on the husk, its long sickle arms pointed directly at him in a provocative gesture.

So not every unit he summons was immediately loyal upon appearing.

This was a good chance to experience battle, but he was also concerned. He was no stranger to pain, but if he were to lose, what would happen? Would his summoned units turn against him?

The [Husk Warrior] didn't give him any time to think, lunging. Eun-ho felt his body move on its own as a black tendril struck upwards.

The husk was sent flying into the air while Eun-ho watched blankly. Well, at least he knew his instincts were still intact.

The fallen warrior fell to the ground with a loud THUMP!

It lay there briefly before bouncing onto its feet like nothing happened. [Status: Excited, loyal(I vow to you, master!)]

The husk glowed as a stream of light connected to Eun-ho's body.

[Vow]

[Description: An unbreakable promise]

[Effect(s): One who has made a vow shall never break the vow. If they do, they will be erased]

He gained a new follower, great. He turned to the shaman next—who flinched under his gaze—as it kneeled.

[Status: A little frightened, loyal(Please don't hit me!)]

He sighed silently. "I don't hit indiscriminately…" he grumbled. At least he had three loyal soldiers.

Now, it was time to focus on the two new system functions he unlocked.

What needed to be done was decided…did he want to summon more units, create a facility, or start on his dungeon terrain?

The answer was obvious…he needed to build facilities! That research center peaked his interest.

[Research Center (Level 1)]

[Description: Research skills, artifact formulas, alchemical recipes, etc. Upgrade the level to increase research speed, decrease difficulty, and gain a wider range of diverse research branches. (Please note: the farm may provide certain materials useful for research)]

[Unavailable]

So the farm could be used like that..but…why was the option unavailable?

Could it be…did he have to establish a terrain first?

[Establish a terrain?]

>Sacrifice left leg and arm? (Y/N)

>Buy for 1000 SC?(System Currency)

[System Balance: 30]

That's insane. How the hell did other [Dungeon Masters] establish a terrain before…actually, if the master of the human centipede [Dungeon] had that many limbs, it probably wasn't much.

It seems luck depended on one's physical body as well when it came to this system.

He really didn't want to, but in the end, the investment was worth less than his own life. Gritting his teeth, he spoke.

"Loan 970 SC." At least the loan system was pretty flexible. With this, he now had a grace period of 5 months to pay it all off, interest included. It didn't have to be all at once.

"Establish terrain: Fortress." Instead of a forest or ruins, this felt like the best option for the time being.

The interior of the [Dungeon] began to shift; the world felt like it was under a severe earthquake as both Eun-ho and his new summons struggled to maintain balance. Cracks soon formed in the white landscape as a towering fortress rose up.

He was impressed. The system didn't disappoint.

Standing before him was a large fortress, inside was a designated training field, a dining hall, and several miscellaneous rooms, albeit small. The walls were decently high too.

The only downside…was that it was a bit too compact. Then again, what could he have expected from a level 1 structure.

He pulled up the system screen again, noticing that the [Unavailable] disappeared. Great, if he used one of the rooms in the fortress, he could make a research center and there was a small garden where he could start on a farm facility too…the most pressing matter was the SC.

He had to get some more…

Debt…reminded him of his time when he was a college student and had to take out a bunch of loans for his education and transportation.

"Loan 140 SC and buy a farm and research center."

One of the rooms in the fortress shimmered while outside in the garden, a shed with tools appeared nearby.

Great, now he just needed workers. Turning to the husk warrior and shaman, he pointed to the husk.

"You're on farming duty and you…" he pointed to the shaman. "You're gonna be responsible for research."

He activated [Sense Sharing]. "If possible, bring back something good." He told his scout. She barked, zooming through alleys and sniffing the air.

She wasn't sure what he meant by that, but she would be a good dog!

With that done, he could continue to plan out his next course of actions. Even if he didn't get to participate in the centipede [Dungeon] raid, he had things to do before he's discovered.

It was likely his own [Dungeon] only stayed hidden because of the commotion with the other one.

Strength was everything in this dog-eat-dog world, that for some reason, people can't get over.

[Grace Period: 28:23:59:33 Remaining]

To be continued…

Additional Information:

>The system, in the previous timeline, only categorized [Evolving Dungeons] in the 6th year. This means that knowledge of [Evolving Dungeons] is near non-existent at this point in time.
