Like Martin Riley, Crystal Foster chose not to hide anything. She told Martin all about Alex Elliott sending her flowers.
"I made it clear to him last time. No matter what, the only person I like is you. So, can you please not be mad at me?" Crystal said, noticing Martin's face darken. She thought he was upset with her, so she lowered her head, speaking cautiously, her voice full of hurt and guilt.
The next moment, she found herself wrapped in a warm embrace.
"I was never mad at you. The only one I'm upset with is Alex Elliott."
Martin couldn't believe how persistent Alex was, continuing to bother Crystal even after she had clearly rejected him. It seemed he needed to step in and handle the situation.
"I'll take care of this," Martin said, gently patting Crystal's head.
She looked up at him, her expression conflicted. "I know it might not be right to say this, but no matter what, he's Sylvia Byrne's childhood friend, so..."
