Alex Elliott's voice was calm, and if you listened closely, there was even a hint of amusement in it.
"But today, I just want to have dinner with you, Alex. You've found her now, and you'll have plenty of time to eat with her in the future. Can't you spend some time with me? You promised me."
Daisy Sanchez's voice carried a hint of pleading. She was almost ashamed of how desperate she sounded.
But she couldn't help it. She had loved Alex for over twenty years and would do anything for him.
Even though she knew Alex's heart belonged to Sylvia Byrne, she was willing to help him get closer to Sylvia.
Alex frowned slightly, seemingly displeased with Daisy's questioning.
"I've told you before, if you don't like it, you don't have to do these things for me." He pressed his fingers to his forehead, as if trying to suppress his inner frustration.
