Chapter 2 - A Name Without a Past

The boy sat up slowly. His black hair was messy, and his red eyes glowed softly in the dark forest.

Rika stared at him. "Are you hurt?" she asked.

He looked at her with confusion. "I… I don't think so," he said. "Where am I?"

"You're near Silvaris. A city not far from here," Rika explained. "You fell from the sky like a shooting star."

He touched the glowing mark on his chest. It was shaped like a star and felt warm.

"I don't remember falling," he whispered. "I don't remember… anything."

"No name?" Rika asked.

He shook his head. "Nothing. Just… fire, light, and falling."

Rika stood and held out her hand. "Then let's start fresh. You need a name. Until you remember your real one, how about… Sky?"

The boy blinked. "Sky?"

"Yeah. You came from the sky, didn't you?" she smiled.

He thought for a moment. "Sky… Okay. I like it."

Suddenly, a strange noise came from the trees nearby. A low growl. The bushes shook.

Rika turned quickly. "What was that?"

Sky stood up, still weak. "Something's coming."

From the shadows, a dark creature stepped into the clearing. Its eyes glowed yellow. Its body looked like black smoke, and sharp claws shimmered in the moonlight.

Rika stepped back. "W-What is that?!"

"I don't know," Sky said, staring at it. "But I think… it's here for me."

The creature growled and leapt forward.
