Chapter 1 - Prologue : Act I

╰───────────✧─────────────╮

The footsteps of a pair of twins echoed along the thin, bright paths that connected the skies. They did not want to bother anyone, they just wanted to get back to their primary goal. They continued walking through the corridors of that realm until something stopped them. Everything began to move and rumble.

The eldest of the two noticed an unknown presence. In front of them a spatial crack formed, and from it a divinity emerged.

-Outsiders, your journey ends here- announced the goddess, while some sharp stars materialized. -Who are you? - questioned the younger twin. -I am the protector of the celestial principles. The arrogance of you humans ends now! - the divinity made a cube of unknown element appear beneath the twins, who barely managed to dodge that surprise attack. The twins materialized their wings, then their swords appeared.

The twins launched an attack against the goddess, but before they could even reach her, she extended her hand towards them and a guided attack of an unknown element began to chase them. The attack was too fast for the twins, they could barely keep up to avoid it. The twins did not have many options or possibilities of a non-violent escape, the only thing left was to attack the goddess.

As if it had been a shared thought, they made a joint attack to finish off the goddess. The goddess only extended her hands towards the blades of the swords. A shield had repelled the twins' attack. The older twin noticed something, so he dropped his sword and moved away from the goddess, but unfortunately his sister had not done the same. The goddess took the blade of the younger sister's sword and from her arm a large amount of cubes of strange element began to devour the sword, to reach the twin. The twin could only see her brother for one last time.

-LUMINE!- exclaimed the older brother. He couldn't believe it... His sister had disappeared.-You... - anger began to consume him. -WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SISTER!? - the twin prepared to punch the goddess with everything he had. The twin's fist was supposed to hit the goddess's face, but a shield prevented it.-That's not going to stop me!- the twin concentrated all his energy in his fist. The shield began to give way and began to crack. The goddess was surprised by that. -You're not a simple human, right?... Your power is something I don't know... And what's dormant inside you, is something that must never awaken... - the goddess' words only made the boy angrier.

-I don't care what you're saying so much...- he had compressed all his energy inside his fist.

Just give me back my sister!

An immense explosion was caused by the immense energy. The traveler had flown out, without strength or energy he could maintain his flight. Thinking that the goddess had been defeated, he just let himself fall, hoping to touch the ground. But this did not happen, because he was held by the neck by the goddess. He could barely breathe because of the force the goddess was using. All he could do was struggle. -Now I understand...- the goddess looked at the boy.

"Your existence is a calamity, what lies within you must never awaken. Extermination is useless for you... But even if you are part of the balance... In this world it is a tragedy"

The traveler could not hear the goddess, his consciousness was fading. The goddess with her free hand introduced something into the core of the traveler's chest.

"So sleep for eternity. Let yourself be dragged into eternal sleep and never wake to see the light once more"

A cube appeared over the traveler's head and little by little his body began to be devoured by the cubes, but with a last sigh he was able to give a few words before disappearing - Return... My... Sister... - the traveler disappeared and in that celestial kingdom now only that goddess remained.

"Sleep, he who calls himself..."

Hades

Prologue' act I: The traveler's lethargy.

-Sister! - the traveler wandered through a deep darkness searching and calling for his sister, but the only thing he could hear was his own echo, along with the sound of his own steps. The traveler walked and walked for minutes, then hours. "Sister! Can you hear me?" he called out but there was no answer...

... The hours passed and with care they became days, the days weeks and the weeks years...

After so much time the traveler could barely continue. "Sister…" his cries had only become whispers. His body was not ready to continue, the darkness seemed infinite, there was no sound or spark, besides his whispers and the poor glimmer of hope that was in his eyes; an ember that a light breeze would soon extinguish.

His body gave way, he fell to his knees and then fell face downwards. He fell to the ground. He began to close his eyes. - I can't take it anymore... I'm... Too tired... - the tiredness was winning over him.

"BROTHER!"

He opened his eyes again. He looked up and saw his sister in the distance. - Lumine!... - his voice was barely audible. With effort he stood up and walked awkwardly towards his sister.

"BROTHER!"

He did his best to quicken his pace. - I'm coming Lumine... your older brother will soon be by your side... - his voice was somewhat broken.

"Brother!"

The screams became soft exclamations. - Lumine... - he was very close to her, but something stopped him. From the darkness arms and hands began to grab his feet. - What is this!? - he tried to free himself, but it was almost impossible, more and more hands appeared to hold him. He could no longer take another step towards his sister.

"Brother..."

He looked at the figure of his sister that was about to reach.

"... Why have you abandoned me... Aether..."

The figure turned around and began to walk away. - Lumine! - he did everything he could to free himself, but it was useless, the only thing he managed to do was fall face first against the ground once more. He looked up but his sister was no longer there and in her place a silhouette lay standing in front of him. --Aren't you tired?...-- aether didn't know what he meant.--... From the beginning you were a disgrace that never had or deserved anything, but when for the first time you had something, it denied you freedom-- he gritted his teeth, but the silhouette could see aether's expression.--From the beginning you were chosen. But... Why? I'll tell you why, it was because you were born in that family. If you hadn't been born there would have been no need to choose, but well, what can you do...

Aether began to move. -- My sister is the only thing I have, everything I lived was for her-- the silhouette interrupted him. -- The only thing you have lived is the greed of not letting her go, if it weren't for you she would be free..

"SHUT UP!"

The darkness dissolved.

"SHE HAS BEEN WITH ME, BECAUSE SHE KNOWS THAT I WILL NEVER BE FREE! AND IF I HAVE TO FACE THAT GODDESS OR SOME OTHER GOD AGAIN, OR IF I HAVE TO DIE, I WILL! I WILL DO IT ONE OR A THOUSAND TIMES!"

The silhouette sighed and the darkness that covered him disappeared revealing...

"Do what you want, but you know what will happen when you need my help. You are also the possessor of my curse, but do not be overconfident, or our little freedom will be reduced to ashes"

A second aether, one with dark wings, white hair and red eyes.

"I know what will happen, and I am aware of our destiny, but"

The white-haired aether sighed.

"then..."

"... WAKE UP!"
