Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Taming the Cat Burglar Nami

"They're… all dead?!"

Nami froze.

She'd been too focused on looting the treasure to notice the sounds of battle outside had gone silent.

Relieved for a moment, she quickly turned cautious—her sharp gaze landing on Reno.

If he wasn't part of either pirate crew, then there was only one explanation.

He was just like her.

A rival thief.

"These are my spoils of war," Nami snapped, eyeing him warily. "Don't even think about touching them."

She reached toward the bulging sack on the floor.

Shave!

Reno vanished from view and reappeared beside the bag in a flash, lifting it effortlessly before she could even react.

"So fast?!" Nami's heart skipped.

"Damn… this thing's actually pretty heavy," Reno muttered, testing its weight before nodding in satisfaction.

"That's mine! Give it back!" Nami lunged at him, swinging her hands like claws in frustration.

"You're too noisy," Reno sighed, and swiftly pinned her down with brute force.

Realizing the vast gap in strength, Nami instantly dropped her tough-girl act and shifted tactics.

"Mister… I really risked a lot to gather this. Be generous, won't you? Let me keep it?" she said, voice sweet as honey, hands pressed delicately to her cheeks.

Reno didn't react.

Grinding her teeth, Nami added, "As long as I get my money back, I'll do anything you want."

Anything?

Reno smiled.

Right on cue.

He gave a satisfied nod. "Now that's the right attitude. From now on, you're the navigator of the Reno Pirates. Join my crew, and I might let you hold onto the treasure."

"I'm in!"

Nami agreed instantly—firm, without hesitation.

One line. No need to think.

Once she got the money, she'd bolt.

But Reno saw that cunning glint in her eye and chuckled.

Joining his crew wasn't just a verbal agreement.

He fully intended to tame her—this was a system quest, after all.

He was counting on a reward once he "conquered" her.

A flash of white light—

The sack of treasure vanished from his hands.

"Huh?!"

Nami's eyes nearly popped out of her skull.

Gone.

The ten million Berries' worth of gold and silver had just disappeared before her very eyes.

"Where did it go?!"

"My money! Where's my money?!"

"That bas—Reno-sama, where did my money go?!"

Nami panicked, on the verge of swearing.

This bastard—what had he done with her fortune?!

That was ten million Berries!

"For starters, that's the Reno Pirates' money now. I never agreed to give it to you," Reno corrected her calmly.

"And secondly—now that you've joined the crew as navigator, don't you think you should do your job?"

Her job? Nami blinked, then caught on quickly.

Navigation, right?

That was second nature to her.

Wait.

Why was Reno looking at her like that?

"W-what exactly do you mean by 'job'?" she asked cautiously, arms crossed over her chest.

She might still be… inexperienced, but she wasn't some clueless teenage girl.

She was eighteen. A grown woman.

Reno shrugged. "What do you think happens between a man and a woman?"

Before Nami could shoot him down, Reno added casually,

"That was ten million Berries, after all."

The words caught in her throat.

She couldn't argue.

He was right. That was a life-changing sum.

If she let this chance slip, it could delay her plan to buy back her village by months.

She remembered Arlong's cruelty. She didn't want to wait anymore.

It's just… a stick stirring a pot, right?

After mentally prepping herself, Nami exhaled, smiled sweetly, and stepped closer.

"Captain~ You said it yourself—once we're done, you'll let me hold the money… right?"

Reno smiled back and gently wrapped his arm around her waist.

Together, they found a relatively clean room.

The moment the door closed, they began their "task"—

One that would last for more than four hours.

To be honest, the start didn't go well.

Nami was inexperienced and didn't know how to coordinate.

But Reno took the time to patiently instruct her, guiding her step by step.

Soon, Nami's natural talent began to show.

She learned quickly, even adapting techniques on the fly.

Before long, she had forgotten she was only doing this to stall.

As they neared the end, Nami took the initiative to clean things up—flawlessly.

"It's late. Get some rest. We'll head out tomorrow," Reno said gently.

Nami didn't argue.

The intense "work" had truly worn her out.

After tucking her in, Reno left the room and entered another cabin.

Despite how "memorable" the session had been, strength was still the ultimate truth in the world of pirates.

—[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have successfully conquered Nami. A reward is available. Claim now?]

"Claim."

Reno didn't hesitate.

He didn't do it just for lust—he wanted the reward.

—[Congratulations! You have received the Power of the Divine Beast: Shennong. Optimize for One Piece World?]

"Shennong…?" Reno rubbed his chin, thinking.

If he remembered correctly, the Shennong Beast came from the anime Divine Weapon Chronicles. It was a healing-type spirit beast—wielder of the Divine Shennong Ruler, capable of healing any injury.

Nice.

This world was filled with danger, and injuries were inevitable.

With that kind of healing power, as long as he wasn't instantly killed, he could pretty much fight however he wanted.

"Optimize."

—[Optimization complete! Congratulations! You have acquired the Healing Fruit.]

(Originally named the "Cure Fruit," but that overlaps with Princess Mansherry's ability—so we renamed it.)

Notes:

① The optimized Healing Fruit fully integrates the Shennong Ruler's healing power. It can restore severed limbs and remove a variety of negative effects.

② Fruits rewarded by the system have no drawbacks: no seawater weakness and can be combined with other Devil Fruit abilities.

③ System Fruit powers can be shared with others, even if the host isn't the user.
