Chapter 45 - WHERE ARE YOU, KASPY?

Ana couldn't stop thinking about Kaspy during the three days that followed that magical encounter.

That boy had truly struck her heart. If it hadn't been for her meddlesome twin's untimely interruption, she would at least have his phone number by now.

The golden maiden spent her days sighing on her bed, on the library sofas, and in the mansion gardens.

She barely responded to anyone who spoke to her—and when she did, it was with reluctance. She was constantly distracted. She needed to know more about that bicolor beauty—those locks of black and blond—or she would lose her mind.

On the afternoon of the fourth day, Ana couldn't take it anymore. She decided she would go out and look for him.

During her time with Adam and his hellish organization, she had learned many things—among them, how to track someone down if she set her mind to it.

After preparing everything, she grabbed her backpack and headed for the front door. When her twin tried to stop her, Ana ignored him. But when he insisted, the golden maiden snapped:

—"Leave me alone, Anthony. If it hadn't been for your damned interference the other night, I wouldn't be like this now."

—"Like what? Ana, what's going on?"

—"It's none of your business! Now mind your own affairs and stop meddling in my private life."

Ana walked away, leaving her twin completely bewildered. But Sara had overheard and seen everything; she was starting to figure out what this was about.

—"Ana! Hey! Wait a second!" Anthony called out, but his sister ignored him, walking away. At that moment, she was deeply irritated by Anthony's closeness.

Sara stopped Anthony to explain what she suspected about Ana.

—"From my experience, Ana is frustrated because of a man. She may have met someone, and you unknowingly interrupted. Does that ring a bell?"

Anthony remembered the incident from the other night. Sara smiled, then asked Anthony to follow Ana and help her.

Anthony ran after his stubborn twin. Though it took some effort, he finally caught up with her.

—"Ana, sis. I finally caught up."

—"What part of 'leave me alone' didn't you understand, Anthony?"

—"Hey, hey," Anthony said, stopping her. "I'm sorry, sis. I never meant to hurt you. Let me make it up to you, please."

Ana sighed deeply. She loved her twin too much to stand being distant from him. She had spent far too long separated from him.

—"Alright, Anthony, you can come with me, but please… don't try to keep me away from Kaspy, okay?"

—"Kaspy? That's his name?"

—"Yes. Come on, brother, let's go."

—"And where exactly are we going?"

—"To find him—where else?"

Ana led her twin to places where they could discreetly inquire about people's whereabouts. After two grueling hours, they finally had all the information they needed.

Ana was radiant with happiness—she finally had a place where she could force a meeting. Anthony wasn't so sure about it because of the neighborhood the bar was in. But Ana didn't care, which made sense given what she had lived through during her years in captivity.

When they entered the bar, Ana was fully aware of how much her twin disliked being dragged into such a seedy place.

—"Kaspy belongs to the lower middle class—what did you expect, brother?"

—"Ana, there are thousands of boys from our world you could fall in love with, remember?" Anthony said.

—"No. Those are pedophiles and rapists. They disgust me," Ana replied simply. "Besides, only Kaspy has managed to provoke in me the same reaction that Sandy provokes in you, brother."

That last comment made Anthony blush to the roots of his hair. Ana smiled at the sight. They were sitting at a table when Kaspy walked into the bar.

He looked tired, carrying a backpack slung over his right shoulder. Ana smiled as she stood and walked toward the newcomer, ignoring her twin's disapproving look. But he understood his sister and would support her no matter what.

Ana intercepted Kaspy, standing before him with a mischievous look that surprised him greatly.

The golden-haired young woman began to carry herself like the perfect girl she was in front of this handsome young man with bicolor hair.

—"Hi, Kaspy. Did you miss me?"

—"Ana? How…?"

—"I looked for you."

—"Wow, really? Incredible. I've been thinking about you these past few days."

—"And I've been thinking about you. Shall we exchange numbers… Kaspy?"

—"Are you alone or… is your furious brother with you?"

—"Yes, he's here, but don't worry—he won't bite… for now."

That last remark made Ana smile, which made Kaspy nervous. But the golden maiden was so exquisite and sensual that she drove him crazy.

They gladly exchanged phone numbers; the chemistry between them was intense.

—"Can I buy you a drink, Ana, or do I have to ask your twin's permission?"

—"Buy us both a drink," she said, gripping his wrist with intense sensuality. "Come on."

When they reached the table where Anthony was waiting, she said:

—"Brother, this is Kaspy. Kaspy, this is my twin, his name is Anthony."

Both alpha males studied each other carefully, not liking one another one bit. But they hid it—for Ana's sake.
