Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: The Counterattack

Zafar couldn't sit still. Every moment since the fire at the shelter had been gnawing at him. The thought that Nashir was so close—so willing to destroy everything they had worked for—made his blood boil. He had been quiet for most of the day, his mind racing with plans and strategies. But he knew he couldn't keep this to himself. Zoha had already proven that she was a part of this fight, that she wasn't going to back down. So, they would face it together.

Zoha sat beside him, her hand resting on his. There was no fear in her eyes—only determination. She knew this would be their most difficult battle yet, but she wasn't afraid. Her love for Zafar had given her the strength to face whatever came next.

"Zafar," she said, her voice steady but filled with emotion, "we can't let him win. We need to take control."

Zafar's eyes met hers, and for a moment, he saw the woman he had come to love so deeply—the woman who had stood by his side, even in the darkest times. "I know. I've been trying to protect you, Zoha. I've been trying to keep you safe. But you've proven to me that you're stronger than I thought."

Zoha squeezed his hand, her gaze unwavering. "We're stronger together. We'll fight him together."

Zafar took a deep breath, nodding. He had spent too long fighting alone. Now, it was time to stop. Zoha wasn't just his partner in this; she was his equal. And together, they would defeat the enemy before them.

Making Their Move

The next morning, Zafar called a meeting with his most trusted allies—his loyal men who had stood by him for years. Zoha, of course, was with him. They needed her insight. She had proven herself time and time again, and Zafar knew that her heart and mind were as sharp as any of his men.

"We need to hit him where it hurts," Zafar began, his voice low but commanding. "Nashir thinks he can intimidate us. But he's wrong. We're going to show him that we're not afraid."

Zoha spoke up, her voice steady. "We'll use his pride against him. Nashir has always thought of himself as untouchable. His ego is his biggest weakness. If we can expose him for the fraud he is, we can destroy his reputation. He won't be able to hide behind his money or power."

Zafar nodded in agreement. "I've been gathering information on his businesses. It's time we expose his lies, his dirty dealings. If we do this right, he'll be too busy trying to save himself to worry about us."

One of Zafar's men, Farhan, spoke up. "And if he retaliates? We know he won't take this lying down."

Zafar's eyes darkened. "We'll be ready. We've got enough resources to make sure that when he strikes, he won't be able to hit us back."

The First Blow

By the afternoon, Zafar's team had already set things into motion. They were hacking into Nashir's private files, exposing his shady business deals, and leaking everything they could to the press. It was a risk, but it was the only way to put pressure on Nashir.

Zoha stood beside Zafar as they watched the news unfold. The first headline hit the media like a storm—Nashir's empire built on lies and deceit. The details of his shady business practices were laid bare for the world to see. The stories about his involvement in illegal deals were now public knowledge.

As the news spread, Zoha turned to Zafar, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. "We've done it. He's exposed."

Zafar's expression was grim, but there was a flicker of satisfaction in his eyes. "This is just the beginning."

The Retaliation

But, as they had expected, Nashir didn't back down. By evening, Zoha received a phone call. She didn't recognize the number, but when she picked up, a familiar voice made her freeze.

"Zoha, I think you've made a huge mistake," Nashir's voice came through, cold and mocking. "You've exposed my secrets, and now you'll pay the price. I'm coming for you."

Zoha's heart pounded in her chest, but she kept her voice steady. "You won't break us, Nashir. We're ready for whatever you throw at us."

But Nashir's laughter sent a shiver down her spine. "We'll see, Zoha. We'll see."

The call ended abruptly, and Zoha felt the weight of his words sink in. Zafar noticed the change in her expression and immediately took her hand. "Don't worry, Zoha. We'll be ready for whatever he tries. He thinks he's the one in control, but he's not."

Zoha nodded, her eyes determined. "We'll fight back. Together."

Preparing for War

As the night drew on, Zafar and Zoha went over every detail of their plan, making sure that they were ready for whatever Nashir might do next. They had no idea what his retaliation would look like, but they knew they couldn't let him tear them apart.

"We need to stay one step ahead of him," Zafar said, his voice resolute. "We can't let our guard down."

Zoha smiled softly at him. "I won't let you down, Zafar. I've got your back, no matter what."

And in that moment, Zafar knew that no matter what came next, they would face it together. Their love was stronger than any threat, and he wouldn't let Nashir, or anyone, destroy what they had built.
