Chapter 2 - Someone is Carrying His Heir!

After Morgana ask for money from the guard- rudely, without even a promise to return it, she gives him an order: when Eryx comes looking for her, they should say she got an emergency call.

Something about her mother falling sick. But that she would be back soon.

With that, she storms off, slipping away before Eryx can see her.

A mask on her face, she steps outside and waves down a taxi.

She would never want anyone to see her in a taxi. That is for lowly Omegas, not someone of her rank.

Even though she is still technically an Omega, she is a highly respected one, given her position as the Luna of Thornevail pack, given her background, and her pack.

After Thornevail Pack, her pack, Clawingfang Pack, is the next in rank. And to strengthen the two packs even more, her pack suggested this marriage.

But even before that, Morgana had already started forcing herself around Eryx.

The good thing was, Eryx liked her. He fell in love with her completely, even after the marriage.

But for Morgana and her family, who lead the Clawingfang Pack, this wasn't just about marriage. This was something they had planned for a long time.

Every time the Thornevail Pack led and ranked first, it always clawed at them.

And as tradition dictates, the first-ranking pack becomes the leading pack over all other packs.

Every full moon, the leading pack is strengthened more and more, blessed by the Moon Goddess, made into the savior of all the other packs.

In cases where there are attacks on other packs, Thornevail is always the one to rise and protect.

Anyone who comes from Thornevail is respected by everyone else. Even some lowly Omegas, so long as they are from Thornevail, are stronger than even the Betas in other packs.

Most wolves from outside wish they could be mated to someone from Thornevail. That's how powerful their blood has become.

And that eats at the other packs. Because who wouldn't want that? Who wouldn't want their pack to be the one with that kind of power?

Even the Omegas are respected. The only place they are mistreated is within their own pack. But once they step outside Thornevail, they are feared.

That's exactly what Morgana's pack had been dreaming of for ages.

But every time the rankings came, Thornevail beat them, every time. In strength, in everything else.

Clawingfang always came second. Always behind. And there's nothing that angers them more than seeing victory right there, but not reaching it.

So they decided to use another way to get that first ranking. And ever since Morgana came to Thornevail Pack, she's tried her best.

Heavens know she has tried. But the pack's stillness, its unshakable structure, seems to be laced together by the Moon Goddess herself.

But every small crack she finds, every little weakness, is a success. A cause for celebration. And with each one, her and her whole family hopes that by the next full moon, she will have found more cracks to break them.

~By the time she arrives at the hospital, evening has already landed. She walks in a rush storming in without hesitation.

She heads straight to the same doctor who had been assigned to handle her case, the insemination.

She bursts into the room, even though another patient is present.

"What did you do?!" she snaps, already grabbing him by the collar. Her strength is unmatchable. "I'm asking you! what the fVck did you do?!"

The patient on the side looks terrified.

Morgana turns to her. "Get out!"

The woman stands and rushes out without question.

"Did you dispose of those sperms as I told you to?! Speak up! Did you?"

"I…" the doctor stammers. "She made the mistake. The doctor who stepped in after me. She didn't know who the sample was meant for, or that the insemination had been canceled. So when she came in and found another unconscious patient, she assumed it was the same person. I hadn't disposed of the sperm yet. She did it without knowing..."

Each word from him sends Morgana's fury boiling higher. She lets go of his collar, shoving him back so hard that he crashes into his chair.

She paces, disbelief gripping her chest.

It happened. The child was actually conceived.

She needs to get rid of it. She has to.

"Who was it?!" she growls, turning to him with a snarl. "Who was the patient you did it to?!"

"I... I can... I'll ask the doctor who handled it," he stutters. "Just a second, I'll ask if she has the record of it..."

The doctor says without even waiting for permission... he rushes out.

"One second! And don't you even dare come back here without an answer!" Morgana's voice follows him, sharp and cutting.

She remains in the room, pacing like a caged animal, heart pounding.

But for a while the doctor doesn't return.

She forces herself to wait. Five minutes. Ten.

Still, he doesn't come back.

Frustrated, she storms out, searching through the hospital, demanding answers. But he's nowhere to be found. Not even the other doctor who worked that shift.

They're both gone.

Angrier than she has ever been, she storms out of the hospital and walks blindly, not even sure where she's going.

Her thoughts race. Her breathing is shallow.

Someone is carrying Eryx's child.

And since Eryx can clearly feel it, he won't stop until he finds out who it is once he realizes she's not the one pregnant.

She stops, torn.

Should she go back now before Eryx starts getting suspicious?

Or should she go back to her home pack and inform them what just happened?

Or should she start looking for the mystery woman carrying the child even if she doesn't know who it is?
