Thanks to Ye Yu's influence…
Ning Rongrong hadn't been mentally browbeaten by Flender this time.
In fact, she'd even been encouraged by Ye Yu to speak up when necessary.
Yesterday, Yu Xiaogang had stood with hands behind his back, putting on the airs of a so-called master, claiming he would tailor specialized training programs for each of them.
Given how Flender had hyped him up—claiming he was a once-in-a-millennium Soul Master genius, a paragon of Martial Soul theory—Ning Rongrong had actually believed he might come up with something profound.
But in the end? Their "specialized training" amounted to nothing more than carrying baskets filled with stones and running ten laps between Shrek Academy and Soto City.
So basically, weighted running?
That's your idea of a customized training regimen?
After all that over-the-top praise from Flender about Yu Xiaogang being a world-class genius, this was it?
Ning Rongrong couldn't hold it in anymore.
She suddenly remembered what Ye Yu had said back when they first enrolled.
Shrek Academy really was a scam school.
"What's the matter?"
"You have a problem with my training?" Yu Xiaogang frowned, clearly displeased by her pushback.
"There's nothing wrong per se," Ning Rongrong said, unable to keep the sarcasm out of her voice. "It's just that what you call 'specialized training' is basically standard weighted running. Doesn't feel very customized at all."
Tang San's face darkened the moment he heard that.
How dare Ning Rongrong question his teacher?
Clearly, she just couldn't comprehend his teacher's depth and wisdom!
"What do you mean, just ordinary weighted running?!"
Yu Xiaogang immediately bristled. "The stones in each of your bamboo baskets were carefully calculated based on your individual physical stats to provide optimal weight ratios."
"This maximizes training efficiency. Do you think anyone could just figure that out?"
"Besides, I have deeper intentions behind this training. What you're seeing is just the surface."
Being questioned on his very first day of teaching made the already insecure and hypersensitive Yu Xiaogang furious. He coldly snorted and said:
"If you don't respect my training methods, you're welcome to withdraw."
"Fine! I'll withdraw then!" Ning Rongrong shot back, equally exasperated.
So this was the so-called Martial Soul theory master? And you weren't even allowed to question him?
All this fuss for a training program that amounted to running with a basket of rocks?
As if she, the heiress of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, didn't understand weighted wristbands, ankle weights, or waist belts?
Wearing those for extended periods offered far better training results!
If this was all it amounted to, she might as well go buy some training gear and wear it all day!
"You—!"
Yu Xiaogang's face twisted in anger. He hadn't expected Ning Rongrong to actually walk away.
This was a blatant challenge to his authority—as both a so-called Martial Soul theorist and a teacher at Shrek Academy!
"Flender! Remove this girl immediately!" he shouted.
Both Flender and Zhao Wuji had been secretly observing from the sidelines to see how Yu Xiaogang's first lesson would go.
Hearing Yu Xiaogang try to maintain his aloof demeanor while barely holding in his fury left them both looking awkward.
Meanwhile, not far away—
In a patch of trees just outside the academy grounds…
Ye Yu was seated cross-legged atop a thick canopy branch, eyes closed in meditation.
But he wasn't cultivating his Inner Core Method.
Instead, he was using one of the Demon Willow Fluff external Spirit Bones he had created and implanting it into his own body.
He then guided it to extend its fibrous tendrils along his meridians, embedding itself throughout his internal network—
His goal: to replicate what he'd done with Tang San, and turn it into a meridian-based external Spirit Bone.
Originally, Ye Yu had only implanted the Demon Willow Fluff into Tang San in order to secretly steal his cultivation techniques—namely, the Mysterious Heaven Skill and other Tang Sect arts.
But just last night…
Ye Yu had noticed that Tang San seemed to be circulating Spirit Power not only through his natural meridians but also through the parasitic Demon Willow Fluff.
That sparked a sudden realization:
Why not do the same thing himself?
If he could implant a Demon Willow Fluff into his own body and cultivate a second meridian system from it—
Wouldn't that let him train two techniques simultaneously?
His Inner Core Method emphasized unity of essence, energy, and spirit, so it couldn't be cultivated alongside another method.
But if the Demon Willow Fluff could function as a second internal meridian system…
Then he could train his Inner Core Method in his main meridians—
And run the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect martial arts through the Demon Willow network.
And that wasn't all.
Because the Demon Willow Fluff came from a mother core, Ye Yu could still manufacture more of them—
Meaning he could create additional meridian systems within himself.
As long as his spiritual power was strong enough to multitask flawlessly…
He could train multiple disciplines at once.
And even activate multiple martial arts techniques simultaneously.
The power boost would be massive.
The thought left Ye Yu exhilarated, barely able to contain his excitement.
Without wasting time, he began constructing his first internal Demon Willow Fluff meridian system.
Using one of the external Spirit Bones he had made, he embedded it into his body, guiding its tendrils to extend and root themselves along his meridians.
Soon, he had successfully established his first secondary meridian network.
After that, he created two more Demon Willow Fluff Spirit Bones—
This time, not to use for cultivation, but to serve as specialized conduits for his self-created Spirit Abilities:
Thunder Magnet Body and Thunderburst Step.
In essence, these meridian systems would act like conductive wiring—
Transforming Spirit Power into lightning and channeling it through the Demon Willow pathways.
It would be far easier and more efficient than using spiritual power to guide lightning through his blood and flesh.
This way, he could dramatically increase the output and destructive potential of his lightning techniques.
He planned to go even further—
Eventually creating two more Demon Willow Fluff meridian systems within his arms to support custom thunder-type abilities like:
Chidori and Railgun.
But just as Ye Yu completed his third full-body Demon Willow Fluff system and began working on the ones in his arms—
He suddenly heard Ning Rongrong and Yu Xiaogang arguing in the distance.
