Chapter 213 - Chapter 214: Trazyn, the Garage Kit King

Chapter 214: Trazyn, the Garage Kit King

In a dimensional rift between realspace and the warp, an SCV was sealed within a tesseract. The massive vehicle was now only the size of a palm. A body made entirely of living metal was toying with the cube in its hand.

"Sannet, my chief cryptek, come and see. This is truly a magical creation. Do you see it? How does this seemingly primitive technology repair a human heavy vehicle that was almost scrap? The matter seems to appear out of thin air. I have not detected any process of energy or matter synthesis. Yet, I have completely understood its structure and have not found any mechanism or technology that could achieve such an effect. Could it be a power from the warp? But I have not sensed any warp reaction! However, given its previous performance, it is still worthy of being a piece in my collection. I will thoroughly study it sooner or later!"

The ruler of the Solemnace Dynasty, the Garage Kit King Trazyn, was staring at the SCV in his hand.

"My lord, I think you should be paying attention to the battlefield before us. The Custodes created by the human Emperor, and those humans in that special armor... could they become part of your collection? If you require, I can immediately complete the hunt for you," the chief cryptek named Sannet said impatiently. A Deathmark stood beside them, raising its synaptic disintegrator and aiming at the battlefield.

Sannet did not want to be here at all. In his eyes, the battle between humans and Chaos had no value whatsoever. Only his ruler, Trazyn, would have any interest in coming here. He just wanted Trazyn to finish his collection work and leave this place as soon as possible.

But Trazyn did not mind the slight offense from his chief cryptek. His attention was completely absorbed by the changes on the battlefield.

"Sannet, do not be anxious. They cannot discover us. If you act rashly, you will expose us. The Custodes... they are indeed a fine collection... but I already have one. There is no need to get another. And those human soldiers... there are too many of them. There is no need for you to act. We can just steal a suit at will! But the situation here is a bit different from what I saw on the Celestial Orrery... The current situation has nothing worthy of my collection and recording. Only when those humans are in despair can the most precious history be collected. Of course, if it is those who have been strengthened by the Sea of Souls who are in despair, that would also be fine. I do not care who my collection is, as long as it is precious enough! Sannet, wait a little longer. I think we will soon be able to acquire an even rarer collection!"

"Then do you still need to tell the humans the true purpose of the Blackstone constructs and how to activate them?"

"No, no, no. There is no need for that now. Look at them, are they not holding back the Chaos offensive? And I have already given a hint to the chief tech-priest of the humans here. But his skills... I doubt he can make much of a breakthrough. Patience. After so many years, you still haven't learned this point. Only with sufficient patience can we obtain what we need. I am growing more and more curious about that so-called Mongorte Rogue Trader Dynasty. Perhaps after this matter is over, we can take a trip there."

Trazyn was very dismissive of the abilities of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Strolling through the dimensional rift, Trazyn dispatched more Scarabs to collect images and intelligence from all over Cadia.

The Cadian soldiers on the ground could do nothing about the battle in the void. They could only pray that the Imperial warships in orbit could hold out for longer, in the hope that more Imperial reinforcements would arrive. But under the immense mass and numbers of the enemy, the Cadian defense fleet was still being constantly destroyed.

The Astartes warships weaved through the battle lines, but they still could not stop the assault of the Chaos fleet. In conventional fleet battles, Astartes warships did not have much of an advantage.

Abaddon's fleet was getting closer and closer to Cadia.

"Admiral Kosh Jochran! We must fall back! The hull cannot take any more damage!"

"Retreat! Where can we retreat to! We have no way out! Behind us is Cadia! How many torpedoes are left? Aim at that battleship! The Emperor watches over us! Sink it for me!"

Dozens of plasma torpedoes were fired from the ship's prow. Countless data-cables were connected to the head of this Imperial battleship's Master of Ordnance. Various data from the battlefield poured into his brain. The massive amount of data washed over his mind, causing him extreme pain.

"By the Emperor! A hit!"

At least half of the dozens of plasma torpedoes had struck the enemy's hull. The violent explosion directly tore apart the keel of this Chaos battlecruiser. A deafening cheer erupted on the entire bridge, but the next second, a dazzling lance beam struck another Imperial warship to the side. The beam directly sliced the already battered Imperial heavy cruiser in half. A massive internal explosion ensured that no one on that Imperial warship survived.

The joy brought by the destruction of the enemy ship was swept away in an instant.

"Admiral..."

The crew on the bridge couldn't help but look out through the viewports. A precious heavy cruiser was now just useless wreckage in the void, and it was impossible for any of the navy personnel on it to have survived.

"Retreat... Tell Lord Castellan Creed we have done our best. The Imperial fleet cannot all be sunk here. We will roam the system and look for opportunities. If all the warships are sunk, then there will be no hope."

Kosh Jochran also seemed to have recognized reality. He began to make what he believed to be the most rational decision.

"Send a signal to the surrounding Imperial fleets. Cover each other! We must disengage from the battle!"

The Chaos fleet also noticed the decline of the Imperial side. They clung to the retreating fleet like hounds.

Just as the fleet battle reached its most tragic stage, both sides on the battlefield sensed a strong warp fluctuation.

"Admiral! It's a warp transit! By the Emperor! What kind of monster is this? We've never seen such a massive transit signal..." The crewman's voice trembled uncontrollably.

And Admiral Kosh Jochran, though also in a panic, still displayed the professionalism he should. He immediately activated the ship's vox system, conveying his one command after another.

"All crew! Brace for impact! Prepare to meet the shockwave!! Quick! Divert all power to the void shields! Master of Ordnance! Load the macro-cannons immediately! Strike the enemy at their weakest moment as they exit the warp! All of you, hold your posts! Even if we die, we will die in battle! Only in this way will we be worthy of going to the Golden Throne!"

For the Imperium, a normal warship would never make such a blind warp journey. This position of arrival was in the very center of the battlefield, no different from suicide. And for Chaos, they knew very well that they had no other such massive warships. The only possibility was the Imperial side. Both sides thought that the other's forces were about to enter the field.

"Thirty seconds. In thirty seconds, this monster will arrive in realspace."

"Broadside, prepare to fire! Have the ratings load immediately!"

And the Chaos warships were also making the same preparations.

"8 seconds... 7 seconds... 3... 2... 1..."

"Fire!!!"

"Stop!! All of you, stop! It's the Phalanx! Cease fire!!!" the signal officer screamed himself hoarse. An identification signal had appeared on the augur array!

The massive Phalanx had arrived on the battlefield ahead of schedule. Forcibly tearing open the warp, the energy from the Empyrean battered all the surrounding warships. Even behemoths like battleships began to shake, and countless crew members could not even stand firm from the impact. A few Chaos frigates happened to be at the Phalanx's point of arrival. The massive fortress-monastery didn't even open fire; it simply crushed them with its mass.

And Abaddon also looked in disbelief at the suddenly arriving Phalanx. At this moment, from its exterior, the Phalanx showed no signs of damage at all, though the internal repairs were not yet complete.

"Be'lakor... the Iron Warriors... that bunch of trash!"

Abaddon knew of their plan to attack Terra, but he had never expected the arriving Phalanx to be so intact. Had their invasion not achieved even a little result?!

"Concentrate fire! Destroy the Phalanx! Hekat, charge the main cannon of the Will of Eternity!"

And all the cannons on the Phalanx, having entered the battlefield, also immediately opened fire. The Phalanx, capable of destroying an entire fleet on its own, once again gave the Imperial Navy hope.
