Theo stood in front of the door to his room, arms crossed and foot tapping against the floor in a restless rhythm. Fenrir paced inside his head, just as impatient as him. He had waited his whole life for a mate, and now that she was finally here, every second she spent away from him felt unnecessary and unbearable.
The door finally opened. Theo's entire face lit up, the tension in his shoulders melting away in an instant.
Hazel stepped out, and for a moment, he forgot how to breathe.
She was wearing the green dress he had picked for her earlier, the fabric flowing softly around her figure as if it had been made just for her. The color complemented her skin perfectly, making her look warm and radiant, and those doe eyes of hers seemed brighter than ever. To Theo, she looked like the sun itself, gentle and powerful all at once.
"Beautiful," he muttered without thinking, the word slipping out before he could stop it.
