Rhydian stepped forward, wings folding behind him. "You can't claim her like some possession, Damon. She's not your property."
I groaned, dragging a hand down my face. "And here we go again…"

The air around me rippled faintly with golden light but Damon didn't even flinch. The glow flickers out the moment it brushes his skin.
