While I was lost in my thoughts, I failed to realise Damon had turned to face me. His dark eyes fixated on me.
By the time I felt warm breath fanning against my face, my mind snapped back to the present. I gasped from the sudden closeness, I stepped back instinctively, shocked as I didn't notice him walking towards me.
Damon's arms wrapped around my slender waist. "Where are you running to?" His voice was hoarse and low but his words were clear.
I looked up to his brooding stare. His eyes were dark but beautiful like the night sky, pulling me into their depths. I tried my hardest not to drown in the abyss of his eyes.
Now that I was standing closer to him, and the dull glow of the candles casting warm hues on his face, the lightning from the storm illuminating the room, making his face paler and his features visible, he looked strikingly handsome, manly yet my eyes fell on the dark circles beneath his eyes.
