After Marvin dropped her off at home, Mia walked into the house to find Mike sitting on the couch with a book in his hands. She chuckled quietly to herself.

"You're so smart, huh? Reading like a scholar? I'm proud of you," Mia teased, her tone filled with sarcastic affection.

Mike lifted his chin with a smug expression, clearly enjoying the praise.

Without warning, Mia strolled over and gave his head a light smack.

"You're so smart, you're reading with the book upside down?" she scoffed.

Mike rubbed the spot on his head and closed the book with a sheepish look. "There are different ways of reading, you know. I just... enjoy it upside down."

"Mm-hmm. Whatever helps your tiny brain," Mia muttered as she flopped onto the couch. Then she suddenly threw her arms up dramatically. "Anyway! Your mom's finally made it big! We're leaving this city! With sooo much money—oh, my money!"

"What?! We're leaving? Why?" Mike cried, his eyes wide. "I don't want to go! You can go if you like, but I won't! Why should I leave? No! No, no!"

He screamed and bolted to his room, slamming the door behind him.

Maria's ghost hovered beside Mia, frowning. "Why do you want to leave the city so badly?"

Mia leaned back with a sigh and cleaned her ear with a pinky. "Can't you see? The plot is pushing this story right back to how it originally went. And I'm tired. I don't have the strength to fight it again. So I'll escape first."

She turned her head lazily toward Maria's ghost. "And don't act like you forgot—you didn't save Marvin. It was Oliver. That necklace belongs to him. If Marvin finds out the truth..." Mia trailed off meaningfully.

Maria's ghost fell silent.

Mia stood and stretched. "Anyway, I should probably get a job or something," she muttered, pulling out her phone to order food.

The Next Day

After sending Mike off to school, Mia changed into a sleek beige suit and took a private car to Rosedale City, a nearby upscale area known for its luxury and high security.

She arrived at a top-rated real estate agency, where a polite and overly enthusiastic agent named Miss Chae greeted her with a bright smile.

"Miss Mia, we've selected a few premium properties that match the preferences you mentioned," she said, handing Mia a glossy brochure.

They drove through a gated community lined with cherry blossom trees, each mansion bigger than the last.

The first house was grand, but too cold. The second had potential, but it lacked charm. The third, though—oh, the third—stood on a gentle hilltop, wrapped in privacy hedges and surrounded by a panoramic view of the city skyline and distant mountains.

"This one," Mia said, stepping onto the marble-tiled porch. "This is the third-best in your listing, right?"

"Yes, but it has the highest security rating and fastest installation schedule," Miss Chae replied, hopeful.

"Good. Prepare it. I want top-quality furnishings—imported Italian sofas, handcrafted Japanese doors, a smart kitchen system, a reinforced basement, and a walk-in closet bigger than my regrets," Mia said briskly.

"Of course, Miss Mia. We'll have it ready within two days."

"Make it one."

After signing the necessary paperwork, Mia handed them her ID and left the staff scrambling to meet her deadline. She headed straight to the bank.

There, she met Marvin's assistant, who handed her a blank check. Without hesitation, Mia wrote in one billion dollars—not yuan, but dollars—and deposited it into her personal account.

"Set up a secure vault account for me, and make sure it's invisible to public records," she instructed Dumpling through her earpiece.

"Done. Transferring now," Dumpling replied.

Before Mia arrived at the school, the bell had already rung. Students gathered by the gate, waiting for their parents. Mike stood by the wall, a lollipop in his mouth, one hand tucked into his pocket, his body relaxed but his eyes sharp.

He tilted his head slightly, staring at Jake, who stood at the center of attention. Their classmates surrounded him, offering snacks and gifts with eager smiles.

"Tsk." Mike clicked his tongue. He's only seven and already being worshipped. It's always the 'destined child' who's favored, blessed, and bathed in golden light. One of Jake's eyes was covered with a patch, yet he stood tall and proud, his presence unwavering.

This little boy... will be the reason for my death again, Mike thought grimly, lowering his gaze. Just like in my past life.

Just then, a sleek black Bentley rolled to a smooth stop in front of the school gate. The door opened, and out stepped Damien, Oliver, and Daisy—dressed immaculately, drawing everyone's attention like magnets.

Jake ran toward them and wrapped his arms around Oliver first, then Damien. Finally, he turned to greet Daisy, who smiled brightly.

"I brought you something," Daisy said with a dramatic pout. "I'm traveling soon, so I thought I'd get you a gift. And you didn't even hug me. How cruel."

Before Jake could respond, a small girl from the crowd stepped forward and asked, "Sister Daisy, is it true Jake is blind and will never see again?"

The question pierced the air like a knife. Oliver's smile froze, and Damien's eyes turned cold.

"Who told you that?" Daisy asked, her voice sharp as she scanned the group of children.

The little girl hesitated, then pointed at Mike, who was still licking his lollipop, entirely unbothered. Heads turned. Fingers pointed.

Mike looked up, blinking slowly at the accusing crowd.

"Very good. I was just wondering which brat had the nerve to say such a thing," Daisy snapped. "But of course—it's you. With a mother like Mia, what else can we expect? No manners, no class, just rotten behavior."

Mike tilted his head and met her eyes coolly. "Why are you yelling at a child? Don't you feel ashamed? And anyway, did you see me say anything? Do you have proof? No? Then blaming me without knowing the truth is just... slander. That's a crime, Auntie."

Besides, he thought, the one who called Jake blind... was me. But that was the past me—before rebirth.

Daisy took a step forward, rage bubbling in her voice. "You are a child. And thank God you know that. But when a child doesn't act like one, someone needs to teach him. Since your mother clearly didn't, I will."

She raised her hand to strike him—but before she could reach him, a splash of cold milk tea hit the back of her head.

Daisy froze.

Slowly, she turned around, seething.

Mia strolled into the scene, her heels clicking, her walk the picture of grace and lethal elegance. She was chewing gum and looked at Daisy like she was just another fly in her way.

"Oh my God, how dare you?!" Daisy shrieked.

Mia casually cleaned her ear. "Ugh, could you stop screaming? You're giving me a headache, and I haven't even started dealing with you yet. Who gave you the guts to try and hit my child? Are you crazy or just bored with life?"

She turned to Mike, holding out her hand. "Did you do something?"

"Nope," Mike replied, shrugging. "Was just standing here when someone decided I'm guilty. No proof. Just vibes."

Mia turned back to Daisy, her eyes narrowing. "Did you hear that? He said he did nothing. So what gives you the right to attack him? Even the kid's mother hasn't said anything, but here you are playing the avenger. What are you, Oliver's emotional support tail? Do you not have a life beyond following your bestie everywhere like a lost puppy?"

"Mia, enough!" Oliver stepped in, his voice cold. "Your child should apologize to Jake. Now."

Mia glanced at Mike. "You heard the ice king. Apologize."

Mike frowned but muttered a stiff apology to Jake. "Sorry."

"Good boy," Mia said sweetly. "It's always wise to apologize to unstable people. Keeps them from going full psycho. See how they're glaring? I think their brains are overheating."

She flashed the group a bright, fake smile, took Mike's hand, and walked off like nothing had happened.

"I hope you're ready to face the burn for what you just said," Damien said calmly.

Mia paused for a second, then smirked and continued walking. She opened the taxi door, guided Mike in, and entered without looking back.

Inside the chaos, Oliver turned to Daisy. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine... but—" Her eyes suddenly widened. "Oliver… I saw it. The necklace. Your necklace. The one that went missing the day I saved Marvin—it was on Maria's neck."

Oliver's jaw tightened. His voice dropped as he spoke slowly, "She stole the necklace… and made it seem like she was the one who saved Marvin."

Daisy nodded, trembling with barely contained rage. "It's time to set things right."

"I'll make sure she stays far away from you and Jake," she said firmly.

"I already found a donor for Jake," Damien said gently, placing a hand on Oliver's shoulder as he hugged him close.

---

Later that evening, Damien—still abroad—received a message from Daisy. It contained a video.

He played it.

His expression darkened instantly.

Crash.

The laptop hit the marble floor with a sharp crack, the screen shattering into pieces. Damien yanked his tie loose, seething. His fists clenched, the veins in his hand bulging. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number. The call rang once before connecting.

His tone was glacial. "Find her. Now."

---

The next morning.

When Mike opened his eyes, he was met with unfamiliar surroundings—the busy, echoing atmosphere of Rosedale City International Airport.

"What is this?! Why are we here?!" Mike yelled, struggling to sit up in the taxi as the driver loaded the last of their bags.

Mia calmly pushed him back into his seat, fastened his seatbelt, and handed him a tablet. "Stop screaming."

Mike shot her a glare but snatched the device and tapped it on.

His face slowly dropped.

All major entertainment companies and dance studios had blacklisted her. Headlines flashed across the screen:

"Rising Star Turns Mistress?"

"Maria Accused of Manipulating Marvin and Using Jake's Eyes to Save Her Own Son!"

He scrolled down, each word burning his chest. Turning the tablet off with shaking fingers, he leaned forward, resting his head on his hand

Mia's phone rang. She raised a brow and answered it, putting the call on speaker.

"Where are you?!" Marvin's voice thundered from the other end.

"Why do you want to know?" Mia asked lazily.

"Maria, don't play games with me! Where are you?!" Marvin shouted. "Come to your house—now!"

"I'd have to be a certified idiot to return to that trap," Mia replied, her tone dripping with mockery. "And please stop trying to track my location. As we speak, your people are probably still chasing their own shadows."

She leaned back with a smirk.

"You want to play, Marvin? Fine. Let's play. Tell me, do you think it's fair? Damien made the world believe I stole Jake's eyes for Mike. But wasn't it you who orchestrated it? And then conveniently told me afterward?"

Her voice darkened.

"But now I'm the one being crucified. So me lying about saving Marvin? That just evens the score, don't you think?"

Her smile returned, amused.

"And oh—thanks for the money. I no longer have to work for the rest of my life."

Click.

She ended the call.

---

On the other side of the world, Marvin flung his phone into the wall, screaming in rage. The hacker he hired called seconds later with devastating news.

"We can't track her. Her accounts are sealed tight. Everything's been liquidated. The house has been sold. She's gone, sir

Of course they could not with dumping help nobody can find their location
