Five Days Later...
Luke recovered from his respawn three days ago. The pain of recovering was excruciating, yet he had a feeling that this was far worse than even the fabled Cruciatus Curse. While the memory of retraining his physical body just to do simple processes sent shivers down his spine, what Luke and Michael were doing now was something just as important.
They were planning how to prepare, what the System called, the [Seed of Gielinor].
From what they read about it, this seed is meant to be the core of an entire planet's existence into physical reality. With this seed planted in any region of space, it will enable the formation of a planet at an accelerated rate until it has caught up to its last known era. Any of the planet's inhabitants wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the accelerated timeframe from planting the seed and its present era. It is also important to note that, with the seed, any thing natural to this world can carry over.
This meant that the rune essence mines, altars, and the ability to create runestones that tune to different Anima types would automatically be transported into this universe. Luke was pleased to know this when he read about it, but this also presented a problem.
While he knew there was time to deal with the events coming up like the Krillitanes, the Battle of Canary Wharf, and the End of Time, Luke wasn't sure if it was a good idea to introduce runes to modern-era humans. There were organizations like Torchwood and UNIT that would attempt to seize the runestones he introduced and use them against alien enemies that would cause interstellar wars that the human race of this era were not ready to handle yet.
"It is like giving an infant a loaded revolver," Luke mentally said to Michael. "I get that when Guthix first created runes for the humans of Gielinor, they had millennia to get used to having little pebble-like stones that can conduct magic. If I attempt to give twenty-first century humans on Earth runestones, it will cause more chaos all across the planet."
"I don't disagree that it would be a problem," Michael replied after a few seconds. "Runestones, when in the right quantity and hands, can cast spells that can alter Time in a localized area or create powerful gusts of elemental magic. Giving humans of this world access to runestones would only spell trouble, yet what about the Doctor?"
"That's even worse," Luke replied instantly. "While he clearly regrets what he had done in the Time War, I refuse to give him runestones as the mere knowledge of their existence would make the Time Lord do anything in his power to prevent humanity from ever using them. If we create Gielinor almost like it was in the game, the Doctor will attempt to meddle about in that world's development just as much as he does with Earth."
This was part of Luke's own worries as he knew better than most humans who've interacted with the Doctor that the alien who defended the Earth would do whatever it took to protect them from things that would go bump in the night. He knew that, with each regeneration, the Doctor kept on going saving the human race and couldn't get a break. Fifteen even said as much to his older incarnation that he split from, with the Toymaker's help, because he was finally faced with themself.
The old, tired, and worn thin version of themselves.
"What if we gave the Doctor a place to rest without worry?" Guthix interrupted as he heard both Luke and Michael discuss things. "It seemed like to me that the Doctor is similar to me in how I protected the mortals from the influence of the other gods."
Luke turned to Guthix as he listened. "It is possible to give them a place to settle down at in between their adventures through time and space, but my issue lay with their companions. They will inevitably learn about runestones and magic, yet will also take some as mementos of their travel to another world. I do recall that young Rose Tyler gave her mother an item made of metal that can help tell the weather in the episode Army of Ghosts."
It was a legitimate worry of Luke's. While he also understood that the Doctor respected alien cultures, as is evident by how Ruby nearly stepped on a fairy circle and the Doctor stopped her, he knew that their human companions weren't the same. There had to be rules about what the humans of this universe could do on Gielinor once the seed was finished and planted.
"Perhaps we should have some sort of guardian for Gielinor itself?" Luke inquired out loud as he looked over the holographic designs for a scaled-up version of Gielinor hovering over the command table. "I know that I'll need to recreate Saradomin, Zamorak, Zaros, Seren, and all of the gods from the game so that the historical canon of Gielinor stays the same. Might even need to recreate Teragard, Freneskae, and Zanaris."
"What about Harold?" Guthix asked Luke. "When he died, I tasked him to regulate Gielinor's cycle of death and life. I'm sure that he could be perfect to protect Gielinor as he was among the few guardians to show up and protect me before Sliske killed me."
Luke tapped his right index finger on the table for a moment to consider it. "While he is important to many events in Gielinor's history, even after his death and subsequent post, should he truly be considered to protect Gielinor in case of Dalek invasion or some trouble with the Cybermen?"
He knew the rules when it came to the famous Guardians of Guthix. They could not upset the balance of Gielinor and only convened when the world was truly facing an imbalance. To the natives of Gielinor, they were handpicked by Guthix himself to safeguard specific areas and executing designated tasks with relative ease. They were even worshiped as demigods for this misperception.
For Guthix to suggest Harold as his first pick to guard the world of Gielinor Luke intended to create, it made sense. The first human to die on Gielinor would be able to safeguard its inhabitants from invasion as well as understand how humans naturally are, so he could teach the Doctor's companions what they were allowed to do with the knowledge and privilege to travel into this strange fantastical world. Even help them learn a few things...
"Alright," Luke sighed as he ran through the reasons. He turned to face Guthix in his human form and continued with a smile. "I'll recreate Harold Death Esquire when the time comes. For now, I need to make sure that things follow the same premise as it was in the game."
That was the moment in where Guthix, the first god created by the Lord of Anima, convinced his creator to bring back one of his oldest friends. None of them knew what this decision would lead to in the future, but it would lead the transmigrated soul down the path into solving the First Mystery.
For the time being, the seed of Gielinor's recreation into the Whoniverse had begun to manifest.
