Chapter 1 - Unnamed

---

Darsi – The Beginning

A freezing night. Snow gently falling on lifeless bodies. A village reduced to ashes, wiped off the face of the earth.

A samurai stands atop the corpses, a mixture of satisfaction and evil radiating from him—but there is something more. A part of him does not want this.

Pain. Sorrow. Destruction. These were the faces he saw that evening—emotions unbearable for him.

According to the Samurai Code, one cannot be a true samurai if they are empathetic or loyal.

But that code had already been broken.

The samurai named Eight—that was his identity. Samurai do not bear names; they are referred to by numbers. He was the eighth member of the clan.

A clan with an ancient history, strictly following old customs and rules with brutality.

When Eight received the mission to destroy the village, he did not want to obey. But he could not escape the code.

Suddenly, he heard the cry of a small child from a nearby hut. He ran toward it.

A woman was trying to save the child, fleeing in desperation.

Eight caught up with her and thrust his sword into her back.

She collapsed to the ground, begging him to spare her child. Her last word was: Darsi.

Eight was broken inside. In that moment, he despised himself. He hated what he had become—but he could not bring himself to kill the child.

He raised his sword—but those innocent eyes, the blood on his own face—he couldn't do it. He fell to his knees and began to cry.

"What am I doing? What am I doing? God, I beg you—please forgive me. Forgive me for this horror… What am I becoming?"

When his tears dried, he stood up, grabbed the child, and ran.

The snow began to fall harder. He ran without looking back, leaving everything behind.

The further he went, the deeper and heavier the snow became. The path was difficult. It was cold.

The child struggled to breathe—he wouldn't survive for long.

Eight:

"Hold on… Please… Don't give up—I beg you… God, show me a way out… Please…"

Suddenly, the sky cleared. The moon lit up the mist-covered forest, and in the distance, a house appeared. A light was shining from within.
