As he was buckling his seat belt, Jack asked Miranda, "Do you want me to drop you off at your mom's, get you a separate room, or do you want to sleep on the couch in the sitting room tonight?"
"So she's not going to watch?" asked Samantha.
He couldn't tell if she wanted Miranda to watch, or if she had thought he wanted Miranda to watch.
"Did you want her to watch?"
"Um, maybe? But... not for my first time. I don't mind if she hears, though."
He'd been monitoring their connection when he asked Miranda, so he noticed her spike of arousal when he mentioned the option of her sleeping on the couch in the sitting room.
"Couch?" he asked.
"Couch!" said Miranda.
Samantha looked at Miranda, then back at Jack.
"She likes it when I make her wait."
She looked back at Miranda, who nodded.
"Huh."
They drove in silence. But the anticipation had both Miranda and Samantha squirming in their seats.
