=Great Hall=
"Harry Potter." Dumbledore calls out again.
All of his friends look towards him. "I didn't enter my name."
"We know." Neville says. "You certainly don't need the money."
"And if you want more fame there are easier ways," Amanda says.
"You better go." Ron says. "We'll meet in the common room."
Harry gets up and heads to Dumbledore and the other Headmasters. "I think we will all retire to my office for now." Dumbledore says.
=Infirmary=
"Missus Potter, are you alright?" Pomphrey asks.
"Yes, sorry." Hermione says. "Just Harry's name came out of the Goblet at the same time you told me I was pregnant."
"How could you possibly know that?" Pomphrey asks.
"I bound our souls together on our wedding night." Hermione says. "Telepathy is one of the fringe benefits."
"So he heard?"
"That I'm carrying his child?" Hermione asks. "Of course, our link is the only reason we didn't come together. In fact I'm a little confused, since the Goblet is a magically binding contract it should have spit out both our names at once."
=Dumbledore's office=
The headmasters / Headmistress are gathered with Harry, the other competitors wait outside.
"So, it looks like we have a fourth champion." Madam Maxime says in her heavy accent. "Doesn't seem fair that Hogwarts gets two champions while the rest of us only get one."
"Hey, I didn't put my name in the Goblet." Harry says. "So if there's an out I'm all for it."
"Unfortunately we have no choice but to let you compete." Igor Karkaroff says.
"But I don't want to compete, I didn't enter my name in the Goblet." Harry pleads. "Dumbledore drew the age line himself. There's no way I could have crossed it."
"Did you try?" Dumbledore asks.
"No, but I watched Fred and George Weasley try with an aging potion and they failed. Why would I try?" Harry asks.
Dumbledore sighs. "There's a slight chance you could have crossed the line, or your wife could have."
Harry's ring becomes visible to the others. "So NOW you tell them. Not afraid to ruin the school's reputation now I see. While you're at it, tell them it's not just my name on that paper."
"If you didn't enter your name, how would you know that?" Maxime asks.
"My wife magically bound our souls together. One of us literally can't enter a magical contract without the other." Harry answers.
"Mister Potter is telling the truth, the paper has his wife's name too." Dumbledore says. "I just chose not to say so in front of everyone."
"Where is your wife?" Karkaroff asks.
Harry hesitates. "She's in the infirmary, she wasn't feeling well."
"What kind of not well?" Maxime asks
"That's none of your business." Harry answers sharply.
"Should we let the rest of the champions in so we can tell them what they need to know?" Dumbledore asks. The others nod and the gargoyle moves letting the others in. "I'm sorry about that, unfortunately it seems like we're stuck with a fourth champion."
"Can't we put forth another champion each?" Fleur asks.
"Unfortunately no, only the Goblet can decide champions, and it has chosen you four." Maxime says.
"Look, I'm sorry my name came out." Harry says. "I don't even know how it happened. I didn't enter my name. I literally have no reason to want to enter."
"I believe him." Cedric says. "The rest of you might not know everything that's happened in this school the past three years, but in the end it's involved him saving the day each and every time. The reason you don't know is that he's asked them not to tell. So he certainly doesn't want fame."
"Even we have heard of the boy who lived." Viktor says. "He's already famous, if he says he didn't enter I believe him."
"Oui, me too." Fleur says.
"So we'll make the best of it." Cedric says.
=Infirmary=
"Oh, so the Headmaster decided just not to say both our names when the paper came out." Hermione says, her voice slightly relieved.
"You seem awfully calm about this." Pomphrey says.
"Honestly, I'm not surprised we got entered somehow. The fact that both our names came out should mean that we can choose who does each task." Hermione says.
"True." Pomphrey says. "Now, let's get back to why you are here. It's a little early but I should be able to cast a spell to tell the gender of your baby. Would you like me to do that?" Pomphrey asks.
"If you'd like, but I already know the answer. I'm having a girl." Hermione says. "I'm currently the last heir of Ravenclaw. Magic doesn't like that."
Pomphrey nods. "I'll wait and we'll check when we can be sure."
"Sounds fair." Hermione says.
Pomphrey hands her a few potions. "The pink one is for morning sickness, the orange one is prenatal supplements. Here's the information to order them. I wouldn't suggest trying to make either one, they're both NEWT level potions."
Hermione drinks one of each potion. "Thank you, we'll order more immediately."
"I'd like you to come by at the end of each month for check-ups." Pomphrey says.
Hermione nods. "I will, do magicals have something like an ultrasound?"
"I'm afraid I don't know that term." Pomphrey answers.
Hermione nods. "Are you familiar with the concept of echolocation?
"I'm afraid not."
"The idea is to use sound waves to get a picture of something you can't normally see." Hermione explains.
Pomphrey nods. "I think I get the concept. It's not something we currently can do, but I will pass the concept onto a few healer friends of mine."
Hermione nods. "Thank you." She starts to head out of the infirmary.
"One more thing," Pomphrey says, handing her a parchment. "This is a list of potions that you shouldn't consume while pregnant."
Hermione takes the parchment and looks at it. "Good to know."
"I would also suggest you ask Professor Flitwick to teach you the bubblehead charm, if you don't know it. Then use it when you brew potions." Pomphrey says.
Hermione nods. "Thank you for the advice." She heads out of the infirmary and to Dumbledore's office, as she gets there Harry is coming out of the office.
"Come on, we need to write to your parents." Harry says.
Hermione nods. "Might as well get it over with."
They head up to the common room where they see all their friends, including Luna, Hannah and Draco. 'Them first?' Harry asks mentally.
'Definitely.' Hermione answers. "Hey everyone." Everyone turns to them. "We have news."
"Are you feeling any better?" Lavender asks.
"Yes." Hermione answers. "Madam Pomfrey found the source of my nausea."
"What was it?" Ginny asks.
Hermione sighs. "I'm pregnant."
There's a moment of silence before the girls all squeal and hug Hermione, pushing Harry to the side. "Congratulations, Harry." Ron says.
"Thanks, though we weren't trying to get pregnant." Harry says. "The heir magic must have been stronger than the contraceptive potion."
"Must have." Neville says. "Look on the bright side you're going to have that family you wanted."
"I would have been more than happy to wait until we were done with school. How are we going to take care of a baby and attend classes?" Harry asks.
"Surely you have house elves." Draco says.
"He doesn't." Neville says. "Just like we don't. My grandmother says James and Lily set all their house elves free, when the war started, as did my parents."
"Wait, Draco don't you have that one house-elf that's enamored with Harry?" Amanda says.
Draco nods. "Dobby."
"Why don't you give him to Harry?" Amanda asks.
Draco debates this for a moment. There are plenty of other house-elves in Malfoy Manor so losing one, especially one so devoted to someone else was no big deal. His Slytherin side comes out as he asks. "And exactly what would I get in exchange?"
Amanda bites her lip. "You sound like you already have something in mind."
Draco reaches into his robes and pulls out a parchment that he hands to Amanda. "Your signature."
Amanda carefully unrolls the parchment and reads it.
Application for married dormitory.
I, Draco Malfoy and I, Amanda Malfoy nee Granger, do hereby request to be moved to one of the married dorms during the winter break 12/24/1994 - 1/9/1995. We intend to stay in said dorms until the end of our schooling.
"Deal." Amanda says as she rolls up the parchment.
Draco nods. "Dobby!"
The elf appears. "Yes, young master?"
"How would you like to be Harry Potter's elf?" Draco asks.
Dobby's eyes go wide. "Really?"
Draco nods. "Yes."
"That would be Dobby's dream."
"I'm willing to give you to him, if he'll accept." Draco says.
Dobby goes over to Harry. "Will you accept Dobby?"
"I don't like the idea of owning a slave." Hermione says.
"Servant, not slave" Dobby says.
"Servants are paid, have time off, and wear a uniform." Hermione says.
"Dobby will accepts no pay! But is willing to accept the others. If that is okay with Mistress then Dobby accepts."
Hermione sighs. "I suppose it's better than nothing. I accept."
"Then we accept you, Dobby." Harry says as magic accepts the bond.
"What can Dobby do first?"
"To be honest we don't have much we need you to do right now." Harry admits
"I remember reading that the Hogwarts kitchen is run by house-elves " Hermione says, "maybe he could help out there until we call him?"
"We would have to go to the kitchens and ask." Harry says. "How do you access the kitchens?"
Everyone gets quiet. Hannah raises her hand. "I know how to."
#####
"Aren't we close to the Hufflepuff Dorms?" Harry asks.
Hannah nods. "The kitchens were Helga Hufflepuff's biggest contribution to Hogwarts, along with her recipes. I understand that a lot of them are still being used to this day."
"I remember reading about that in "Hogwarts a History." Hermione says.
"That wouldn't surprise me." Hannah says as she stops at a painting of a bowl of fruit. "Now you need to tickle the pear."
"Excuse me?" Harry says.
"Is that euphemism for something?" Hermione asks.
Hannah chuckles. "No, I'm being literal." She reaches out and tickles the pear on the painting, it turns into a door handle. Hannah opens the door.
Harry and Hermione step into the massive kitchen. "I think I've died and gone to chef's Heaven." Harry says, astonished.
"This is amazing." Hermione says.
One of the elves walks up to them. "How can I help you?" The elf asks.
"We were wondering if our house-elf could help around the kitchen?" Harry asks.
"Sure, we can always use more help." The elf says.
Hermione turns to Dobby. "Help out here, learn what you can. When we have a chance we will get your uniform. Otherwise we'll call you if we need you."
Dobby nods and heads off to work.
