Weeks passed.
The data Elara retrieved sent shockwaves through governments and corporate empires. Trials were launched. Assets frozen. Names exposed. But the deeper the investigations went, the clearer it became—Damon had been just one head of a much larger hydra.
Elara stood before a panel of global investigators, her testimony broadcast to millions.
"I wasn't the only one," she said into the microphone. "I was just the one who escaped with the evidence."
Behind her, a screen displayed names of victims, redacted files now unsealed.
She finished, "We don't need sympathy. We need accountability. And protection for those who can't speak for themselves."
The room erupted in quiet, stunned applause.
Later that evening, Killian handed her a folder.
"New intel," he said. "A project running out of Prague. Same genetic markers. Same tactics. Damon wasn't working alone."
Elara opened the folder and stared at the name on the first page.
She exhaled slowly. "Then we keep going."
Declan joined them, laptop in hand. "I've set up a secure server. Survivors, whistleblowers, even agents can contribute. You said we needed more than justice—we need a movement."
Elara smiled faintly. "Then let's build one."
The scars on her skin had faded, but the fire in her eyes only burned brighter.
