Chapter 4 - FIFTH THREAD: " The Temple"

Page 1

Wide shot: A floating island drifts above the clouds, anchored by magical chains to mountain peaks below. At its center is a Temple—a majestic, wind-swept ruin with glowing sigils and broken spires.

LEON (off-panel):

"Rule number one of flying temples: bring a coat."

Page 2

Leo stumbles onto the floating island with a gust of wind knocking him back. Leon lands lightly beside him, completely unbothered.

LEO:

"Who the hell built this thing?"

LEON:

"I don't know. Probably a masochist."

LEO:

"Why did the Compass lead us here?. I thought it was broken"

LEON:

"It was. I fixed it. Bad idea?"

Page 3

Inside the Sky Temple: Wind howls through hollow halls. Ancient murals show heroes in combat with winged shadows. A sigil glows faintly beneath the dust.

LEO (reading):

"'To challenge fate, first fly above it.' What does that mean?"

LEON:

"Look Up."

A loud whoosh—stone tiles lift under their feet, floating upward.

Page 4

They ascend on magical platforms. Mid-air, they're attacked by skyborne guardians—stone birds with blade-like wings.

LEO (drawing sword):

"I really hate flying!"

LEON:

"Focus. I'm sure you don't want you're head to go flying."

Leo swings and misses. Leon catches one mid-flight and slams it into another.

Final guardian shattered. They land at the temple's summit: a circular arena surrounded by clouds. A single Thread of Fate spirals above a dais, pulsing with tension.

LEON (serious):

"This one's frayed. We're close."

LEO:

"So what do we do? Patch it? Tie it in a knot?"

LEON:

"Face the echo that guards it."

Page 6

The clouds swirl. A humanoid figure forms—half-shadow, half-light. It looks like… Leon. But twisted. Tired. Eyes hollow.

SHADOW LEON:

"Still running from the end, are you?"

LEON:

"…You could've copied Him ya know."

Page 7

Battle begins. Leon and Shadow Leon clash in a flurry of mirrored moves. Every attack is matched. Leo watches, stunned.

LEO:

"They're completely equal…"

Shadow Leon glares at Leo.

SHADOW LEON:

"You think he'll save this world? He'll fail, like you did. Like we always do."

Page 8

Leo charges in—dodges a blast of wind magic—leaps between the two Leons and slashes at the shadow's core.

LEO:

"Shut up. I'm not him. I'm me!"

SHADOW LEON(Mumbling):

"You...will....always... Fail...."

LEON:

"Just die already"

Page 9

Leon finishes the shadow with a burst of light magic from his palm. The echo dissolves into wind and thread.

LEON:

"Not bad, rookie."

LEO (panting):

"That… felt important."

LEON:

"It was. That was a manefistaion of sorts it appeared because I'm always hanging to the past. So all of your past bad memorie set them aside and focus on the present alright?."

LEO(smiling)

"I'll make sure to remember that."

Page 10 (Final panel):

They approach the floating Thread. Leo touches it. It glows gold, then absorbs into his chest.

LEO:

"Did I just… eat fate?"

LEON:

"Something like that."
