"Fate has a way of pushing people out of the way for you, doesn't it? You never have to lift a finger, things just rearrange itself for you." Sophia mused.
I exhaled and shook my head. "You're delusional."
"And yet," she tilted her head, "here we are. I'm in custody and you're the current trending topic."
She made it sound like it was a good thing.
"I came here for answers, Sophia," I said.
"You already got one," she said. "I leaked your video. I ruined you. Isn't that what you wanted to hear? That's your closure."
"No," I said firmly. "I want to know why you hate me so much."
She raised a brow. "Really? Do you really not know why or are you just playing dumb?"
"I know," I whispered, "I know that your mother always favored me. I always wanted her to be my mother instead. I had assumed that you forgot my background because you never talked about it, and you never asked questions, but I guess I should've known better."
Sophia crossed her arms and watched me intently.
