Selene~
I had really wanted to talk to Cassidy about it, but then again, I didn't really want to.
My mother was a topic that I never imagined I would have to visit. She was like a shadow that I had long since learned to ignore, but now, everyone was bringing it up.
"You know," I started, sounding slightly annoyed, "I don't know why they won't just leave me alone. Why are they trying to unravel my life when it's my life? It's my life to live."
Cassidy didn't say anything, she simply closed her eyes and went back to snuggling against the couch. And yet, I was on my feet, breathing heavily, as if I'd run a marathon.
It hurt. And Cassidy wasn't acting like she cared, it stung.
"Aren't you going to say something?" I asked.
My voice came out a bit more strained than I wanted. Cassidy opened her eyes slowly, and looked at me. She looked tired, to say the least.
"Do you want to talk about your mother?" she asked in her hoarse voice.
