Chapter 89 - After All, He Is Kushina's Son

"When you say you can take care of yourself, do you mean eating ramen every day?" Kakashi glanced at Naruto and said.

"Uh…"

Naruto stuck out his tongue after his little thought was exposed: "So, am I going to live with Sasuke?"

"Why? Don't you want to?" Kakashi asked.

"That's not the case."

Naruto shook his head. Although he had fights with Sasuke almost every day at school, he actually saw Sasuke as a close friend. The idea of living together actually made him happy.

"But you have to come back early."

Naruto looked up at Kakashi and said.

Kakashi looked at Naruto, and after seeing the reluctance in the boy's eyes, he reached out and touched Naruto's head and then said: "I know; I will complete the mission and come back as soon as possible."

Kakashi brought Naruto to the Uchiha Clan's territory and knocked on the door of Fugaku's house.

Soon, Mikoto, who was dressed in her usual outfit, opened the door.

When she saw Kakashi and Naruto, she immediately showed a surprised expression on her face.

"Kakashi? And Naruto, why are you here?"

"Hello, Aunt Mikoto." Naruto greeted Mikoto politely.

"It's like this, Mikoto-sama. I have received a long-term mission from the village, and I'm afraid I will be away from the village for a while. I'm afraid that no one will take care of Naruto, so I would like to ask you to take care of him for a while." Kakashi said.

Mikoto nodded, then looked at Naruto: "Take care of the child for a while? That's no problem, but…"

Mikoto didn't finish her words, but Kakashi understood her concerns.

Mikoto and Fugaku were friends of Naruto's parents, so no one dared to say anything if they took care of the child under the intimidation of Kuragami Uchiha.

But if the Jinchūriki moved directly into the Uchiha Clan, she's afraid the Third Hokage and others would be unable to sit still.

"It's okay." Kakashi said: "I'll leave the child to you, Mikoto-sama, and no one can say anything."

"Okay."

Mikoto nodded, then asked: "Would you like to stay for dinner?"

"No need to stay for dinner; I have to go back and pack my things."

Kakashi shook his head, then looked at Naruto and told him: "Naruto, don't cause trouble to your Aunt Mikoto if you live here, okay?"

"I won't." Naruto nodded.

At this time, Sasuke also poked his head out from behind Mikoto.

"Naruto? Are you going to live in our house?"

"That's right."

Mikoto touched her youngest son's head and said with a smile: "You two should get along well in the future, Sasuke; take Naruto in."

"Okay!" When Sasuke heard this, his face showed an excited look as he took Naruto into the house.

"Thank you for looking after him." Kakashi bowed slightly to Mikoto after seeing this.

"Don't say that." Mikoto looked back at Naruto, who had already entered the house with Sasuke and said.

"After all, he is Kushina's son."

… … …

After Kakashi left the Uchiha Clan's clan territory, he just returned home and saw Jiraiya waiting at the door.

"Jiraiya-sama?"

Although Kakashi knew why the other party came to him, he still pretended to be ignorant and asked: "What's the matter?"

"It's so late, Naruto hasn't come back yet?" Jiraiya asked.

"I'm going to the border to clean up the rebel ninjas. I will probably be away from the village for a long time, so I plan to ask someone else to take care of the child for a few days."

"So you sent him directly to the Uchiha Clan?" Jiraiya said with a serious face.

"Is there any problem?"

Kakashi said: "If Lady Kushina was still alive, she would make the same choice if she encountered such a thing."

"Kakashi, Naruto is a Jinchūriki, after all! No matter what, you shouldn't have sent him to the Uchiha Clan." Jiraiya said seriously.

Hearing this, Kakashi's face suddenly changed: "Jinchūriki, Jinchūriki! Of course, I know Naruto is a Jinchūriki! But he is only a seven-year-old child! He is the only son of my teacher, your disciple Minato Namikaze! Are you looking for him because of this or because of his identity as Jinchūriki?"

Jiraiya's face turned red and white at what Kakashi said, but he still gritted his teeth and said: "Have you never thought about what would happen if the Uchiha controlled the nine-tails?"

"Jiraiya-sama, with your current identity, you can't say such things casually." Kakashi reminded him.

Jiraiya also reacted at this time. What he said just now was too sensitive.

After turning back and repeatedly confirming that there was no one else around, he sighed and said: "Kakashi, I don't mean that, just in case."

"Jiraiya-sama, I think that with the pride of the Uchiha Clan, they would not be so despicable as to make a fuss about a child."

Kakashi said.

Jiraiya was speechless. He wanted to say that the Uchiha Clan would not be so mean as to make a fuss about a child. Could they be so mean?

But he didn't have the confidence to say that.

After taking over the position of Hokage advisor, he also read the documents left by the two previous advisors one by one. Wasn't the rumor about Naruto, a demon fox, arranged by Danzo, one of the village's senior officials? On the contrary, the Konoha Military Police Force had never been involved in the previous rumor incident.

So, facing Kakashi's words, Jiraiya could only remain silent.

"Jiraiya-sama, please go back. If you want to see Naruto, you can go to the Uchiha Clan. I think Fugaku-sama and Mikoto-sama will not refuse." Kakashi said.

After that, Kakashi walked into the house by himself and closed the door without paying attention to Jiraiya outside the door.

Jiraiya, outside the door, glanced at the ancestral home of the Hatake clan behind the gate, sighed, and rushed to the Hokage building.

Jiraiya pushed open the door of the Hokage's office and walked in dejectedly.

Seeing this, Hiruzen Sarutobi also sighed.

Seeing Jiraiya like this, he thought that he had hit a snag with Kakashi.

"Kakashi still insists that Uchiha take care of Naruto?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked.

"Yes."

Jiraiya nodded: "Old man, what you did before was indeed too much. Now Kakashi would rather believe in Uchiha than us."

Hiruzen Sarutobi lit his pipe: "Is it about the rumors about Naruto? Danzo did this behind my back before. When I found out, it was too late to make amends. If I force myself to explain, the villagers' misunderstanding will only deepen."

Jiraiya looked at his teacher deeply, shook his head after a while, and then said: "Forget it; let's not talk about this. Uchiha shouldn't be so crazy as to attack a child. Old man, after Kakashi resigned from the Anbu, the position of Anbu captain will be vacant. Do you have a candidate?"
