The story starts in middle school were Shin Tanaka showing off his popularity were everyone admired him and even his crush but Shin is the biggest coward in confessing as his popularity continues to grow but only one day it goes down hill.
We see the teacher introducing a transfer student that looks perfect and handsome and importantly his having the main character aura or the vibe of it.

Then as the years past we see the present were Shin in highschool uniform walking to his Highschool were we see him reading a manga in his phone while walking to school then we see now Shin standing in front the school gates putting his phone away cause it's not for otaku time.
In the pass years Shin was now wearing glasses his black messy hair with a white stripe it was a failed attempt making his hair white to mimic his favourite manga character in his left hair but only a little white then just forget his popularity in middle school and his crush and Renji and more.
With a sarcastic tone "Welp so my highschool life starts today maybe this is were i get more irresponsible for being an otaku hehe."
As Shin enters the school gates he sees familiar faces he sees Renji walking with girls that look like his harem and Renji was getting attention from the other students.
Then Shin sees his old crush Mira Fujiro with Renji's harem maybe? But it was the past Hajin does give a care of it then continue to go his classroom.
In the classroom we see Shin was now sitting in his sit and yup it's the window sit were protagonist sits as Shin was preparing his book cause the teacher is arriving soon for the lecture as he was loss in his own world were he image his favourite manga will having an anime soon.
Then Shin hears the next sit to him caughting his attention and sees a white hair girl with a blue headband then Shin thinking "...Will this is a heroine for Renji's harem soo i don't really care but her beauty is top notch."
Then Shin sees Renji entering the classroom then Renji goes and going to talk to the white hair girl then an conversation started while the background character and the readers listen in entertainment.
"Yuri! hows my childhood friend doing!" With a happy smile for her then everyone was busy in there business no one really noticed only Shin was listening.
"Hello Renji long time no see" with a sweet smile while Shin was basically watching a Romcom real life in entertainment.
With eyes sparkly in the next sit Shin was really interested at the two's relationship and dynamic.
Then Shin sees his crush and some girls of Renji's harem that he doesn't know who the F are they.
Then the entertainment was short lifespan then was finish cause of Renji's harem stooping him and the teacher arrived finally and yeah Renji is a Dense asf guy.
We see in the lecture how the homeroom teacher.
Lecturing with some "as the world goes to blah blah blah blah blah blah. With a tired expression while we see everyone was taking notes at the blah blah we see our background boy Shin busy in taking notes and then the teacher called to get everyone's history text book.
Shin had predicted this outcome then bring his history text book then open it then start taking notes then he felt that in his shoulder a poke so he sees now Shin was now thinking that Yuri might have problems that she didn't bring her text book then Shin imagine that he and Yuri will share the book. But Yuri was whispering if he got an extra pen then with an deadpan expression he gives his extra pen.
Shin felt defeated that he didn't predicted this outcome.
As the day continues it was lunchtime like an side character with glasses in a anime Shin adjust his glasses then ran to get the limited strawberry pudding that he heard from his classmates talking about it.
We see Shin panting ordering the pudding then sat in his table he was in the school's cafeteria. While Shin was munching a melon buns and pudding. He sees a drama happened he cancelled his reading in a manga then sees two students fighting for just a strawberry pudding.
"I buy it first!" "But i pay it first!" Like dogs barking in the cafeteria.
Then Shin watched how it got resolved by Renji's aura of a good guy with the main character power he solves the issue.
While Shin was eating Yuri sat next to him then it was that Shin felt that he's going to be the secondary main character then sees Yuri next to him.
"Will i might be getting her attention." With a face of I don't really want to be a main character anymore.
