That last word from Elune echoed in my mind long after she left - hours, then days, until I couldn't hear anything else.
Then I made the decision.
And once I'd decided, there was no going back. Elune asked me again and again whether I was sure. I confirmed, reconfirmed, and swore that this was what I wanted.
The little angel had let me in on a secret, a secret I should have known already, and probably did know already but just haven't spoken aloud - not even in my own mind.
Once I gave my final words to Elune, she disappeared for a few days.
"The Mistress will need some convincing, Miss Roen. But trust me on this. If anybody can do it, it will be me!"
That's what she said.
Then one late night, she finally visited me again and told me Luc was waiting. The smug expression on her face told me that she had succeeded.
