Chapter 42 - Chapter 302-Home

KEIFER'S POV

"Goodbye, Singapore, goodbye," Honey said while waving her hand as if someone were waving back at her.

"Who are you waving at?" Keigan asked her.

"Nothing. Just practicing," she answered.

She continued walking toward the private plane. She's the only one we've been waiting for.

"Why did we take her with us again?" Keigan asked me.

"We didn't take her with us. She came voluntarily."

We both shook our heads. She didn't do anything but walked around and stared at her phone.

Boarding the private plane, all I could hear was the sound of the camera. Honey was taking selfies from different angles.

I need a drink.

As soon as I sat down, Keigan handed me the papers. I just held my breath. I can't believe I have to do this. What's more painful is that the board members want a report from my trip. I have to explain why we should consider this company's proposal.

"This is tiring!" I shouted before putting the papers down.

"You can rest in the next country," Keigan said, picking up the papers that I almost threw away.

"Where's the next country?" Honey asked.

She's acting like a tourist. Even now, she really thought about combining sightseeing with her free time. She can't study. After attending three semesters in college, she decided to stop. She said she's too smart for her chosen profession.

"Home," Keigan answered shortly. "We're visiting three companies—"

"Make it four."

Both of them fell silent.

"Are you planning to add that company?" Honey asked.

"I personally sent them an email to let them know," I said, looking outside the window.

No one spoke after that. They both sat down and fastened their seatbelts. I did the same before closing my eyes to sleep.

Maybe I should pay my Jay-Jay a visit. I miss her so much that I'm ready to move the whole Philippines next to London. Or maybe move all of London next to the Philippines.

Whichever it is, as long as I can move our countries. I don't know how long the flight was, but I woke up when Honey suddenly screamed.

"You're such an annoying boy!" she said, standing up.

My forehead creased when I realized we had already landed. I looked for Keigan, who was currently reading something on his laptop.

"What time is it?" I asked, removing my seatbelt. "You should wake me up, I'm yours."

"Because your sleep is good. I didn't want to interrupt your peaceful rest," he answered without looking at me.

I looked at Honey as she opened the door and continued to get off the plane. She was holding her phone in one hand and her expensive bag in the other.

"Here," Keigan said, handing me his laptop. "All the Fer Corp data and information are available to you."

I raised an eyebrow, but he just smiled at me. "Obviously, I can't stop you, so I'll help you."

For some reason, I felt relieved by his decision. I didn't want to argue with him anymore, especially now that I knew his situation.

I will talk to his doctor soon after these meetings.

"Thank you," I said, and he nodded before returning to his seat.

I looked at his laptop and read all the Fer Corp data. I had already done a background check before, but the data he found was much more useful.

It took me about half an hour to read. I returned the laptop to Keigan afterward and went straight to the restroom to freshen up. I also changed my clothes. After getting ready, I looked at myself in the mirror.

I want to be fine when Jay-Jay and I meet. I also need to control myself. Maybe I'll kiss her right away when we meet. I bit my lips while thinking about her. 😂

I went out immediately after fixing my necktie. Keigan was waiting for me while looking at his wristwatch.

"Let's go," I said, and he nodded.

We got off the plane together. A service vehicle was already waiting for us. Immediately after boarding, Keigan asked about the previous companies we visited. I had a little chit-chat about it.

I was amazed while hearing my brother's opinion. He is really smart. Maybe if he had been the firstborn, we wouldn't have had any problems with all of this.

"You're not listening," he said, snapping me back to reality.

"I am."

"What did I say then?"

"You're not listening," I answered, and he chuckled.

He just helped me study Fer Corp's stats. That's how we spent the entire flight, until we reached our destination.

Here we go.

Someone opened the car door for us. I got out of the car, followed by Keigan. Upon entering the building, the employees lined up to greet us. And of course, Angelo was present.

"Welcome to Fernandez Corporation, Mr. Watson," he said, offered his hand.

I smirked before accepting his hand for a handshake. "What's with the formality, Mr. Fernandez?"

He gripped my hand tightly, and I almost whimpered in pain. But if he is good at hiding his emotions, so am I. If he doesn't remember, I'm a product of his evil guidance.

"You look pale. Don't you want to rest for a while?" he asked, still gripping my hand.

"No, but I would prefer if you could give me some medicine," I said, also gripping his hand.

He smiled at me. "Sure."

"Thank you. I would like to have a Jasper Jean. I know you have one for me," I said and smiled. ❤️

His smile disappeared, and he tightened his grip on my hand even more.

"Yes, I have a Jasper Jean, but it's not meant for you." He let go of my hand before taking a deep breath.

He faced his secretary and whispered something. I simply held my hand. Good thing I removed the cast before traveling. I knew he would hit my arms when he got the chance.

"Would you like to have a tour?" he asked me after talking to his secretary.

"I would like to talk to you. In private," I said in a serious tone.

He signaled his employees, and they all scattered. Some got inside the elevator, probably going back to their places, while the others stayed at the lobby.

He motioned for me to follow him. I followed him, as did Keigan and his secretary. We entered the open elevator. His secretary pressed the top-floor button.

"Sir, the conference room is ready to use now."

Angelo glanced at my brother. "Follow my secretary. He will bring you to the conference room."

Keigan looked at me for permission. I nodded briefly in response. The elevator opened, and we got out one by one. Keigan and Angelo's secretary walked to the other side, while we went in the opposite direction. We went straight to his office. We stopped a few feet from the executive table.

"Have you caught the kidnapper?" I asked.

He shook his head. "No. But Yuri has already sent someone for the investigation."

"Why didn't you send someone? Yuri's men are too slow."

"Because it's against him! I can't interfere because it's between their clans!"

"What do you want me to do then? Wait until someone kidnaps my girl again?"

His forehead creased. "Jay-jay is not your girl. Stop giving her labels."

"Coming from the person who labeled her 'best friend,'" I mocked him, but he obviously didn't buy it.

His serious face was intimidating, but his eyes were full of sorrow.

"Ion is in good condition. She's planning to travel abroad before continuing her residency." He wanted to ask a question, so I went ahead of him.

He nodded shortly before walking toward his table. He took the velvet block box on top of it. It was large and had the group's logo in gold print.

"This is from the group. Your birthday gift," he said, handing it over to me.

I accepted it and slowly opened the box. It was a gun, but not an ordinary one. My initials were engraved on it.

"W-what's with the gun?"

"That should have been your welcome gift to the group, but Schnee was so overwhelmed by your ability that he wanted me to give it to you early."

I shook my head before smirking. I closed the box and gave it back to Angelo. "I'd prefer accepting it when I'm an official member of the group."

He took it and placed it on the coffee table next to him.

"Are you sure? You might need it for my next task."

"What would that be?"

"Ryosuke Sato is a big pain in our ass. Get rid of him."

I stopped and tried to understand what he meant. He wanted me to get rid of Sato.

"I thought you couldn't interfere." He raised an eyebrow. "And you want me to kill him?"

"Then kill him silently or get rid of him when he's alone so no one will know."

"Why me? Why don't you do it?"

"I already have a problem with the Hanamitchi. It might get worse if I get involved in their mess." He raised an eyebrow at me. "Are you complaining? I warned you from the beginning."

I breathed heavily. "No. It's just—"

"Don't you dare complain, Keifer! You signed the contract! You are risking Jay-Jay's life here, double time!"

"I am not complaining! Give me time, and it will be done."

He came to me and pointed at me. "Make sure you will." He passed me and left the office.

I remained standing there. I couldn't believe I had to kill someone. This was against my will, but if Jay-Jay's life was at risk, I was more than willing to get rid of those who dared to hurt her. 🔥

I better follow Angelo. I saw his secretary waiting for me.

"Sir, they're in the conference room waiting for you," she said and walked ahead of me.

I followed her until we reached the conference room. They made me sit at the end, where the Demon was next to me. I briefly spoke with the board members and the company's major stockholders.

There were fewer of them than I expected. The managers started presenting the company's stats, their plans for the future, and what I would get for investing in their future projects.

The conversation lasted for more than three hours. We closed the discussion by informing them of my interest in the company. Everyone in the conference room thanked us and shook hands before letting us go.

We were already in the elevator when I noticed Keigan texting someone.

"Who's that?" I asked without looking at his phone.

"Honey. She said she was downstairs."

I shook my head. She always disappears. She was also missing last night. She said she had a date, but she came back with a disappointed face. Looks like something didn't go well in the conversation.

When I arrived at the ground floor, I was immediately approached by other board members. I wasn't sure what exactly they wanted from me. I was in the middle of a conversation when I heard someone yell.

From the most expected person that I know.

"KEIFER!! YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!" 😂

Tsss... Profanity.

We turned in her direction almost at the same time. I saw her turn around and jump to the other side of the couch.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Watson—"

I cut him off by starting to walk. I had planned to see her later, but it looks like we'll meet earlier than expected.

"Who's that one?"

"Please, someone call security."

"The youth of now a days."

"What a filthy mouth."

I heard them say as I walked toward her.

"Where is she?" I asked when I saw a few employees standing near the couch.

"She's gone," one of them said.

Another employee stepped in front of me. "I'm sorry, Mr. Watson. Believe me, that's not our employee."

I pushed him aside to look for Jay-Jay. I badly wanted to see her, but these people were blocking me. 🥺

Just please show up.

"It doesn't matter, your business proposal will not be affected. I just don't like hearing inappropriate words. Maybe I'll make her pay for those profanities."

I looked in an area when I noticed the movement of a shadow. I was about to approach it, but suddenly Keigan came to me and held his phone in front of me.

A message from Clyde saying that the Oldest had been rushed to the hospital, and we needed to come back as soon as possible.

"Brother! We have to leave. We're going to be late for the flight." He sounded worried.

"Okay," I said and turned, but I left a message that she would surely hear.

"Maybe next time, Jay-Jay."
