An old, elegant woman, decorated with expensive jewelry and wearing a haute couture dress, splashes a glass of cold and crystal clear water on my face as I sat at the table of a high-end restaurant.
This is our meeting place. Mrs. Choi, the wife of the chairman of the fifth-largest Construction Company in Seoul, is the mother of the man I'm currently dating. She contacted me in secret so we could have "the talk."
"Ms. Han. There are lots of women who want to get close to my son, and you're not different from any of them." She said as she sat and took a card right into her limited edition luxury bag.
Sounds familiar, right? I could even predict what's going on next.
"There's one million in this card. Take it and break up with my son."
I forced my tears to come flowing down my eyes, I shook my head to show my disapproval, bow my head and wipe the tears in my face, then responded "But I love Joon Ho, I can't break up with him" saying every word like an actress performing her lines for a television service.
"You have no choice, my son, and you have a completely different social status; you're not meant for each other. You'd better take it. Someone like your class certainly needs it."
And that's what happened, I took her million and broke up with her son. But no, I'm not brokenhearted at all because this is actually my job.
I'm dating young generation chaebols, so their mothers will give me a million just to break up with their sons. During the past years, I got money from over 17 chaebol families, which was a lot considering that my relationship didn't last because their mothers always interfered, which saved me more time.
But I had to lie low for some time, or else the chaebols might find out my hidden agendas.
You might ask why I'm confident that every mother will do that. The answer is pretty simple: just like what Mrs. Choi said earlier that a man from a prestigious family is not worth someone from a lower class like me.
