No matter what, Darian was keeping his head low at the moment.
"There's no need for that. I don't think she wants to see you either," Jeffrey said calmly.
Celeste and Evelyn immediately relaxed, relieved they wouldn't have to apologize in person.
At least this way, they could avoid some of the humiliation.
After all, having to apologize to someone they'd always seen as beneath them was frustrating enough, especially since they still considered Rachel a killer, and in Celeste's case, a former rival.
However, Darian didn't share their relief. Instead, his brow furrowed deeper.
A sense of unease spread in his chest, and he feared this situation might not be as simple as it seemed.
"Since that's the case, we won't disturb you any longer, Jeffrey. We'll take our leave," Evelyn said, signaling to Celeste to make a quick exit.
But just as Evelyn stood up, Jeffrey's voice rang out again. "By the way, you should settle your debt before leaving."
