"I... I never thought about that," she stammered, hoping Sister Lauren's restaurant wouldn't suffer because of her.
After all, she could see that Sister Lauren was a good person, and she had a deaf son, which must have made life quite burdensome.

Rachel bit her lip, remaining silent.
Jeffrey took both of Rachel's hands and pressed her palms against his cheek. "Since you insist on finding a job for yourself, I'll let you. But no matter how late you come home each night, you need to say goodnight to me, okay?"
