Rachel's body jolted slightly as she lifted her head, meeting Jeffrey's gaze, which shimmered like rippling water.
Lily's expression changed, and she forced a laugh, saying, "I didn't realize, Mr. Jeffrey, that you… love Rachel so much. Do you two have plans to get married?"
"As long as she's willing to marry me, I'm more than happy to tie the knot," Jeffrey replied.
Rachel felt her heart race wildly, almost in disbelief as she stared at Jeffrey, like she had just heard some unbelievable fairy tale.
"How is that even possible?!" Lily blurted out.
Jeffrey lazily glanced at Lily. "What's impossible about it?"
His eyes were cold, sending a shiver down Lily's spine and stirring a weird sense of dread inside her.
"All right, let's go, Rachel." Jeffrey took Rachel's hand and led her away.
Without any objections, Rachel followed him out.
